    Divine
Famous temple in Kerala of Lord Guruvayoorappan. Reachable through rail and road. Temple provides Anna danam and usually there will be a large crowd on all days. Now there is an option to take NaiVilakku tickets so that we can enter temple through priority queues

    Hare Krishna!
Now who can review the home of Krishna himself. Albeit some useful tips for those who wish to visit the majestic Guruvaryur temple. The temple gets crowded on weekends, so if possible visit on a weekday, alternatively the 1000/- per head passes are totally worth it and can be easily booked online as well as at the temple itself. Dress code is strictly observed, however there are shops near by which can provide Mundu for men (Lungi), with a velcro. Trust me, its really convenient with a velcro. Though there is a cloak room service, however the queue to put things there is long, so most of the people just leave their footwears outside somewhere. We did the same and found them exactly as is at the same spot :). The special darshan takes about 30 minutes, with the crowd being organized nicely, though the time one gets infront of the deity is only about 2-3 sec. So make sure you are attentive to make the best use of it. Parking facility is available closer by but mostly full, and honestly not ample for the kind of crowd the temple attracts. For those who do not know Malayalam, its a bit of challenge out there to figure out the right place to get in the queue. Make sure to confirm from 2-3 people to avoid any misunderstandings.

    Excellent excepting..........
As is usual, visiting Guruvayoor Temple is a great experience. However, what never changes is the terrible and extremely bad attitude of the Devesom board employees who think they own the temple. They are very rude and their behaviour to the worshipers is of very poor quality and leave a very bad taste in an otherwise great visit. Time they got sent to a personnel training school, where they are taught inter-personnel skills and the value of good behaviour. What a shame!!

    Mismanagement by Guruvayur Devasom
The Guruvayur Temple the Divine Abode of Kannan, and the divinity one can experience here. But, the so called Devasom, Anthamkammi Devasom Atheist Devasom their mismanagement of the Administration is so devastating. The Deepavali day even otherwise the crowd management is so poor, These dyfi goons who is in devasom do not know how to behave. Useless comerades has been appointed as Administrative heads and the serving people they are so rude and devastating behaviour from them The stupids do not know when the nada opens and what kind of poojas is happening in Guruvayur, Again, there is a deep plan going on to make this Ekadasi 2023 Guruvayur Ekadasi controversial, heard from the temple that this anthamkammi devasom is planning not to open the Thirunada on Dwadasi day, so no dwadasi villakku achaara langanam is the mugha mudra of the Pinu kammi government. Kerala Devasom should be dismissed and Bhakthas should be given in charge of all the Temples.

Amazing place with positive spiritual energy. I visited this place post the visit of our Hon'ble PM and it turned out to be quite a divine experience. Since it was Sabrimala season in December there was a bit rush, else, there wont be too much rush. Easily in an hour you can finish the darshan. Here ompulsory males have to wear dhoti (mundu) and females need to wear Sarees / Salwar kameez.

Krishna Guruvayoorappa, Namo Narayana.

Guruvayoor Temple is the most famous Krishna Temple of World and draws huge stream of pilgrims day by day for the holy darshan. To get a close darshan, one need to stand in the que, waiting period may range from minutes to hours based on the time, occasion, day etc. There is also a fast darshan option by paying ghee lamp for Rs 1000 for a person (which also entail receiving a prasadam kit). For old people/physically ill people/new born babies with their parents etc, facilitation will be done by the Devasom Authorities for fast darshan inside the temple. When I was a Kid, I got a scant memory of directly entering the sanctum sanctorum during the early 80s without waiting for any que. However, afterwards, the crowd started increasing and waiting period also increased, sometimes extending beyond 5 hours.

I started from Mumbai by the 12.30 am flight (Air India) and reached Kochi Airport by 2.30 am. Thereafter I took a cab to Guruvaayoor for Rs 3153/- (Not able to decipher how the same was arrived at) by booking the same at the prepaid counter inside the airport (operational 24*7). If you are reaching the Kochi Airpot during the day time, there is option of availing bus services etc for commuting to Guruvayoor temple. A person coming from places like Mumbai/Delhi may not expect much infrastructure in Kochi especially obtaining cabs/public transport nearby the Kochi Airport. Unfortunately, Kochi Airport is situated around 5 Kms away from the Kochi-Trichur Highway and so it may not be advisable to venture out in the night hours to search for public transport.

I reached temple by around 5.30 am. Checked into a hotel and after taking a bath, proceeded to the temple (by wearing dhoti as Pants/Jeans etc are not allowed). I entered the main que at 7 am (que system is comprehensive with around 8 lanes with huge fans, sitting arrangements & drinking water etc). After waiting for some time, I got a holy darshan of the deity- Lord Unnikrishnan by 9.30 am. After the darshan inside the sanctum sanctorum including Ganapathi Bhagavan, I proceeded to worship the deities (Devi, Ayyappa) on the inside temple compound. I also got the sandal prasad (for smearing on the forehead) and holy water from the counter to the side of the inside temple compound. To avoid lengthy que, try to enter the que during the early morning hours starting from 3 am (vakacharthu darshan onwards).

As I have not taken the breakfast, after the darshan, proceeded to the Pottys Cafe on the road proceeding to KSRTC stand. Relished Masala Dosa, Poori Masala, Coffee at Rs 105/- only.

For prasadam (sugar powder, banana, butter, payasam, kalabham-sandal paste etc) counters are available on the side of the main temple and the cash receipts need to be deposited at the second counter for collection of the prasadam.

No mobile, bags, other big items, chappals etc are allowed inside the temple and the same can be deposited in the Devasom cloak room situated nearby the temple compound.

Next day, after having the darshan of the temple, went to the que for the Oottu Prasadam (Temple feast which consists of Boiled Parboiled Rice, Buttermilk curry, Side Dish, Payasam- which is continuously given to the pilgrims from morning till temple closure at noon). More than the taste, I had the food with divine feelings.

For purchase of guruvayoor pappad, halwa, other local delicacies, I made a visit to the shop at the corner of the first junction on the road towards the KSRTC Stand from the Guruvayoor temple.

I also visited Parthasarathy temple, Thirupathi Venkatachalapathy temple situated near the Guruvayoor Railway station and from there proceeded to Mammiyoor Shiva Temple by taking an auto for Rs 50/-

It's one among the oldest temples in India and has got a lot of significance in ancient history. Don't forget to follow the dress code else you will end up buying dhoti from the shop. Men have to wear lungi and women's saree or salwar suits. If you (women) don't have either then wear lungi on top of your jeans or pants. That worked well for me and they allowed me to enter inside.
But it's always over crowded inside. The temple is really beautifully carved and one can get a feel of an old temple.

Business minded approach to a divine temple may not be a good approach. Some effort needs to be taken to improve the infrastructure around the temple and the town.
