We scrambled over cobble at the beginning, walked on soft pine needles in the middle, but at the end had to climb up some rock that the doggies couldn't even maneuver. We didn't make it to the waterfall. All considered it a successful hike though because the woods are so pretty and peaceful. Logs and boulders covered with emerald moss and lacy ferns. Water trickling down the rock face added to the charm and mystery. Getting to see elk grazing was an unexpected bonus.

Aside from having to drive in 30 minutes on Squamish Valley Road which is single lane, from highway 99, it’s a good hike. There’s also no signage until you hike in about an hour. Because we went end of October, the trail is slippery with wet leaves and rocks. Crooked Falls was in full force!

Of all things to do in Squamish, Crooked Falls trail is one of the most epic experiences you’ll find while exploring the surrounding landscapes. Crooked Falls is probably a hike you’ve never been to, or maybe not even heard of. Understandably so as Crooked Falls hike is not an easy one, and is not considered to be a “touristy” location. This Squamish trail has been only recently “discovered to the public” and brought to light by one of our local bloggers. We’ve followed the “hunch” and truly loved what we’ve found!

NOTE: the hike is a hard one. I do not recommend attempting it with young kids under 10yo, even if you plan carrying them in a carrier or a backpack. Get more details and see stunning photos on my blog - see link in my profile.⠀
