I was delighted to finally climb the very tiny spiral staircase up the tower. I had a lovely chat with the cake seller in café by the stair. Her family have restored & run the tower with help from a trust. Full of art (for sale), history and stories of people I feel I should have spent longer perusing every... More

Situated 15-20 minutes away from Walton-On-The-Naze Station and Town, The Naze Tower offers visitors an expansive and jaw-dropping view of the sea and town. For visitors to the Tower, there are notice boards nearby informing you as to the Tower's history, originally as a Georgian Watch Tower and later as a radar station and lookout post for the army during... We decided to drive to the Naze and found the tower. It had just opened for the season and was a nice warm day. We went to the top and enjoyed the views, plus decided to stop on the way back down to enjoy a cuppa and something to eat.

Whilst on holiday in Essex, we drove to the Naze Tower. It is such a tall building at 86ft high and looks very interesting. I read that there are 111 steps to climb to get to the top.Unfortunately the tower was not open at the time we were there, so we could not go inside. We had to drive through... More

This is unique and a precursor to lighthouses. In private ownership, it is being kept in very good order. I have been up the tower about 5 times now. Amazing how many people who live locally, have never been in or climbed up to the top. This is history you won't find anywhere else in the UK! You can eat... More

Marvellous views on all sides from the top of this tower. Great café and also has art exhibitions as well. You will need to be ready for the steep steps though and there are plenty of them. The view from the top is, however the great reward!!

We didn't go into the tower itself as it was closed when we visited. However, the area around the tower is great for a walk. There are great views out to sea and over to Felixstowe Docks. The site boasts plenty of history and there are information boards around to explain further. Well worth a visit.
