After all those mountains and blue skies, it's a welcome break in the scenery to see this gorgeous glacial tarn. Many day trip visitors too.

This lake is beautiful and the landscape is amazing. If you feel like it, you can walk until la cabane des aiguilles rouges from there, which is a beautiful place too. I prefer the lac bleu in summer, it is more scenery.

Spectacular view! My wife and I snowshoed up here for a picnic by the lake. It was a 2km walk with a change in elevation of 300m. A moderate hike but worth it. I would like to return in the summer to compare but I'm sure that'll be just as great!

I`ve been there in the summer of 2009, and after a walk over the mountains, in the end we saw this beautiful and cold lake.

Lac Bleu is a short hike off the beaten track but well worth the up hill climb. The views are stunning surrounded by snow capped peaks and the setting one of tranquillity - great for a pic-nic or simply to chill out for an hour or two.

A steep path, but without danger, and a real blue (but cold!) lake in a quiet place with beautiful view.

Start the walk to Lac Bleu from Arolla, as an alternative for the start at the Pension du Lac Bleu. You can choose from a yellow or red-white trail. Both are worth it! Especially in the end when seeing the lovely small Lac Blue.

Cute short hike if you don't want to walk for several hours. The lake itself is small but nice. It was crowded with families having picnics when we went.

The walk up to the Lac Bleu is not too challenging, but definitely worth it. Start from the Pension Lac Bleu at La Gouille, and walk up through the little hamlet of Ouartse. There is a good chance you might see chamois on the way towards the Lac Bleu, and no doubt hear the whistle call of marmottes. The name... More
