This is not the most preserved railway, however they do open and run trains to continue the restoration they are doing. It's a beautiful part of Scotland and the trip to Dun is well worth it. Get off and do some of the local walks....More

The railway is manned by volunteers dedicated to either steam trains or old diesels. We went in a 1960s carriage through the peaceful countryside, shutting farm gates as we went!! Well...we didn't, but it happened! Manned by enthusiasts it was an interesting and fun ride....More

On our 3rd Santa 🎅 Special trip today and the magic for our 6yr old boy hasn't faded. Well organised, well presented facilities and trains/carriages.I wish to congratulate all of the volunteers for constantly making the trip so special. Well done everyone and thank you.

Dogs are allowed on the daytime trains. They must be kept under control and on the floor. Any mess must be cleaned up by the owners.
