While visiting friends in Brechin we took time to walk over to see the Brechin Cathedral. Dating back to the 9th century ( Round Tower), the Church was breathtaking. The stained glass windows were beautiful. The woodwork is not to be missed. We also spent...More

Visiting Brechin found there was a motor bike festival so the town was heaving and noisy. So what a relief to visit the peace and quiet of the cathedral. So much history and the round tower is unique,

Taken here by a friend, we found this small cathedral a very charming place! A quick visit is a good idea if you pass near by! Tip if the place: if you stay nearby, check the program for evening concerts in the cathedral.

Wonderful building, graveyard and stain glass windows. Well worth a visit. The head stones tell interesting stories of those who have gone before. Don't forget to look up at the embellishments on the exterior of the building!

An amazing building, inside and out. After 4 years living here, every time I wander round I see something new in the architecture and the stained glass windows are gorgeous. Don't neglect the old gravestones for an insight into the area's history.
