This is one of the hottest onsen I did in Japan but it was great. It's really a hot spring for the locals so it's the real deal, but they appreciate that you try their onsen. One of the old ladies even washed my back :-)

This Onsen is super Hot! We were almost not able to jump in the water. It is super HOT and a lot of local people from the village coming to bath. Great after long day trekking.

This is a very nice hot spring which appears to be popular among the locals. It is very hot and you cannot stay in the bath for long. It helped my sore muscle though.

Not well signposted in English - turn uphill at the traffic lights by the shell garage in Onoaida. 200Yen per person and separate for men and women. Very hot baths!
