This natural Onsen is amazing. Only accessible at low tide, you basically sit on the beach in the middle of nature. Be prepared to mingle with the locals. There is no building nearby. Nature pure.

This is the best hot spring I have been to so far. It is right by the sea and the day we went, the sea was rough, which made it more interesting. You can only take a bath when the tide is low. The temperature was just right when we went. It is a mixed sex bath and there were... More

This is must have experience visiting yakushima! The place is a bit harder to find than I expected, given that it's so famous in yakushima. But it your are traveling from the Oko-no-taki waterfall and back, It will be easy to miss the bus stop. Better to tell the driver where you are going to so they can tell you... More

Just had bath on natural onsen on the rock shore, watching ocean and under heavy rain. Funny thing was there were couple of men, totally au naturel and you were not allowed to keep your swimming suit on!!! It's very unique experience. Water is rich with sulphur, so it's great for skin ! Take towel if you are female and... More

Temperature is sweating warm. We stayed adjacent minsuku. Japanese food served at the minsuku is deliceous. Taking bath before and after hiking was fantastic. You need to donate 100 yen. Need a big towel.

This bath is a rare treat and certain to delight all onsen gourmands. Bathers can take in a wonderful view of the rocky ocean coast while enjoying the onsen's warm waters. It is a very fun and memorable destination that is worth planning your day around. Just be sure to watch your step -- the baths' surfaces are super slippery!

Most importantly, you need to know the low tide time. Because it's an onsen at seaside, you can use it only ~ 4 hrs each day (2 hrs before and 2 hrs after the lowest tide). You can check this with the hotel staff. We went there by car. The parking area is very tiny. It can only park 2... More

this is an open air, seaside onsen. you can get warm in the hot water and cool off in the sea. note that the pools are separated by rocks so you need to be fairly agile. as it is mixed you will need a towel for modesty. the group of young Chinese tourists we encountered wore bathing suits (well the... Only accessible at low tide (be sure to check times before you visit), this onsen is right on the seashore between the rocks. Amazing to be sitting in the hot water listening to the waves crash in just metres away. It is pretty basic but wasn't quite as bad as I was expecting, there is a bamboo roof sheltering the... More

This seaside onsen is only accessible on low tide, with a spectacular setting on the cliffs in natural cliff pools with hot spring water. There is a very small fee to pay at the entrance and no facilities around the onsen besides some toilets further up. It is a mixed bath with no changing rooms, bring an onsen towel and... More
