Great View from the bridge & have a kokonoe burger ! Walk In The Sky

The bridge's length is 390 meters and height 173 meters high. It is about 1.5 meters wide. Just nice for two way human traffic flow. As we walked along the bridge we can hear and then see waterfalls Shindo-no-taki and Medaki. Because we are in the midst of the bridge, we hear the gushing of the water first. We enjoyed... More

This is indeed no major destination. Rather a place to stop and wonder. As the previous reviews show different people have different experiences and that is the point of traveling. My husband and I appreciated a stop on our way to Yufui. We took our time to stroll to the other side and back. Wondering indeed : why such an... More

This bridge is very impressive and picture opportunities are endless. However, this is a worthy stop but not an attraction worth visiting just by itself. Make sure to book an overnight stay at one of the ryokans in Kokonoe, Yufuin or Beppu. Otsurihashi can be easily reached by public transportation just make sure to give plenty of time because trains/buses... More

The bridge was impressive and you can take in great view of the area when walking across the bridge. Usually you need to buy tickets but it was free when we went on 8 Jun.

This Kokonoe Yume Otsurihashi suspension footbridge is the longest and highest in the world. There is a magnificent view of the Naruko-gawa gorge and waterfalls from the middle span of the bridge. But be warn if you suffer from height or anxiety problems, especially when it's windy. If you don't have such problem then the walk is highly recommended.

If you like height, YES. If you are afraid of height, NO! Careful:: If you rely on GPS in car to drive to this place, the info on internet is misleading. It would often lead you to the city hall which is miles away! Entry fee is a bit high for this bridge. I went there once and would not... More

if you are up on the mountain anyway, it's a nice thing to say you've visited 'Japan's highest and longest suspension bridge'. There is also a lovely, mostly empty shrine just a short walk away from the hilly side of the bridge. Just go up the hill, pass all of the shops (on the right) and keep walking. When the... More

Visited this longest suspension bridge in Japan en route driving from Beppu to Kurokawa. Well worth the small detour. The slight vertigo experienced adds to the exhilaration of the walk across the bridge.

After help from the national Park centre Kuju National Park opposite the Auberge Cosmos. We were able to take the local bus to the bridge. It was clearer at the bridge then at the wet land where visibility was almost nil. The bus ride was interesting, so made the whole journey worth while. Still wondering what prompted the bridge to... We stayed Kurokawa Onsen the day before and we stop by this bridge on the way back to Fukuoka in August. The bridge and the view itself was unremarkable, but it does not worth for you to see only for this. I thought it would be more beautiful if we visited in autumn. I wonder the red and yellow leaves... More
