I greatly enjoyed my visit to Yoshinogari historical park. Firstly, out from yoshinogarikoen Station, you can walk to the park with clear signage given along the way. Secondly, there is free shuttle bus in the park to bring you around. You can take free shuttle...More

Drove out here from Sasebo on a rainy May Day (1hr 15 min drive). Luckily, the park had little museums along the footpaths and straw huts (the featured attraction) to duck into when the rain was too much. It's good to get a map and...More

We traveled to the park by train, and arrived around lunch time. There are clear signs from the train station making the park itself really easy to find. The park is huge. There are lots of different villages to see and so much information to...More

The name of Yoshinogari is well known for its archeological site. Actually this place used to be a big city, or maybe even the capital, during Yayoi Period. Today this site is well renovated as a historical park, and you can see the reconstruction of...More

This was a little out of the way, but well worth the visit. Allow a good half a day and I would suggest more if you have children. There are several recreated historical villages representing different time periods and lots of interactive activities especially for...More

Our experience to the park is superb. The park contains both historical information about the 彌生time, e.g ancient tombs and their culture; as well as many scenic views and leisure places. It is also the autumn falls and 芒草 seasons which matches the feel of...More

Definitely worth a bisit if you are interested in history. We caught the Midori express from Hakata station in Fukuoka. The park is 750 m from the Yoshinogar-coen station. It is well sign posted and there is a taxi stand at the station if needed....More

The park area is large, and mostly outdoor, so you won't enjoy it on rainy or windy days. The entrance fee in April 2017 was 420 Yen per person (adult). We suggest taking a free bus around first, to gauge how big the area is...More

First things first. GET A GUIDE. We had pretty much just entered the gates and a very friendly gentlemen offered his services as a volunteer guide. He spoke Japanese and English fairly fluently. You honestly get 100000 times more out of it with someone going...More
