It's a great museum, designed by the same architect as the Chichu Museum it has a similar construction, but a very different feel. The views are amazing and there are many associated artworks in the grounds and approaches to the museum. You can only ride your...More

I am a fan of Richard Long and he has 3 great works here. Loved the Yves Klein too. There must be something for everyone with the variety of artists here. But it does cost a bit to enter.

This hotel is on the small island of Naoshima and it prides itself in having a good collection of modern art owned, I believe, by the Benesse Holdings Inc. The architect Tadao Ando has constructed a number of buildings that when it opened in 1992...More

Another museum which I think is worth a visit. Very good facilities, helpful and friendly staff. Not all attractions worth a long stay but some work are just absolutely stunning. We regretted not staying at the oval - which is exclusive for guests staying at...More

Didn't stay the night, but enjoyed Benesse all the same. Not the highlight of the trip, but still a must-see on Naoshima.

This Hotel including a museum is pure heaven, the architecture is clean and blended beautifully with the nature. The art is wonderful and both myself and my 13 year old daughter loved the entire experience.

I understand everyone has different tastes but I must say this is not mine. If you like cold, gray concrete and minimalism perhaps you will think this the epitome of design. As a professor of landscape architecture I got nothing from our visit and actually...More

This is a museum that thrilled us beyond words. You're not allowed to take photographs, so I have nothing to show. What art vocabulary I posses is not that adequate to describe the works on exhibit. The ideas behind the works are totally unexpected, clever...More
