Starting with the original tsukudani made from sweet potato vines, which was created in 1945 when the company was founded, visitors can explore the history of Shodoshima’s soy sauce and tsukudani through videos and panel exhibits. The building of Ittoku-an was renovated from the original factory of Yoshitsugu Takebe’s shop, which was used to produce tsukudani. Before the war, it was a soy sauce brewing storehouse, making it a building that encapsulates the rich history of Shodoshima’s soy sauce and tsukudani production.
