高野山金剛峰寺の近くにある鐘楼。もともとは福島正則が父母の菩提のために建てたものだという。現在でも時の鐘として使われている。

金剛峯寺前トイレのすぐ脇、重厚な石垣の上に建つ立派な鐘楼です。朝6時から偶数時に鐘がつかれます。時間が合わずに音を聞くことはできませんでした

1645年福島正利が父母の追善菩提を祈って建立しました。
現在も偶数時に時を伝える鐘として音色を山内に響かせています。
石垣の上にあり木々も植えられていて、建物も鐘もよく見えませんが、それが功を奏し自動鐘打機が鳴らしているのがわからなくて、良かったんじゃないかと。

壇上伽藍から金剛峯寺へと向かう道は、生け垣が素敵な道でした。金剛峯寺の正門が近づいたあたりの石垣の上に、こちらの六時の鐘は建っていました。
江戸時代初期に建てられた鐘楼です。朝６時から夜の１０時0までの間の時間帯の偶数時に、時を刻む鐘音を響かせている鐘です。朝６時から撞き始められるので、六時の鐘と呼ばれるらしいです。

金剛峰寺の門前に来たら突然上の方で鐘の音が鳴り響きました。これにはびっくり、こんなところに鐘があるなんてと思いました。近くには説明書も有り、戦国時代の猛将福島正則に関係する鐘のようです。

高野山の金剛峯寺前の駐車場の前、少し高い石垣の上に、六時の鐘が建っていました。この鐘楼は、福島正則１６１８年に建立したものだそうです。今も、朝６時から２時間おきに、この鐘の音が高野山に響き渡っています。

六時の鐘は、金剛峰寺の正面左前方にあります。
高い石垣の上にある鐘楼なので、見落してしまいそうです。
下に説明文があります。
それによると、福島正則が両親の追善を祈り1618年（元和4年）に建立したとあります。
現在も時刻を知らせる鐘として使われているそうですが、鐘自体は見えにくいですね。

金剛峯寺の正面入口の近くにあり、高い石垣の上にあります。
豊臣秀吉に仕えた福島正則公が両親の菩提を弔うために1618年に建立した鐘楼で、現在でも午前6時より午後10時まで、偶数時に時刻を知らせています。
石垣は立派ですが鐘楼は高い所にあって良く見えないためでしょうか、足を止める人は少なかった。

金剛峰寺の正面左前方、伽藍の入り口となる高い石垣の上に「六時の鐘」の鐘楼があります。
福島正則が両親の追善供養のために建立し、後に正則の子 正利によって再鋳されたもので、鐘銘が仮名まじり文である事でも知られていますが、近づいて鐘を見ることはできません。
現在でも、午前6時から午後10時までの偶数時に時刻を知らせる鐘として使われているそうです。
