An old Samurai Wooden Shrine near the top

As i took 2 buses up to near the top, this was the 1st shrine 1 saw in the mountain. It is not crowded but interesting to visit. There is a toilet stop near it as well.

Legends of Samurai in Yoshino

The story of the Samurai Minamoto no Yoshitsune saying good bye to his lover and hiding out in the "Kakure-to" Hideout Pagoda, the location at the top of Mt. Yoshino, and the Shugendo Buddhist cleansing chanting service one can participate in make Kinpu Shrine an interesting and mysterious experience

A thousand-year old wooden shrine. Misty and secluded environment adds a peculiar touch. Requires an hour uphill hike, but you can drive there, too.
