能登半島に４世紀頃にできた大きな古墳がありました。
大型の古墳を手軽に見学できる場所はなかなかないのでは。
古墳に登頂できるのもなかなかないのでは。

当日は大変天気もよく、景色も良くて自然の中にある素晴らしい場所でしたが、暑い夏に行くのはオススメできないかも。とにかく暑い！虫もいますので軽いハイキングのような格好が望ましいかもしれません。古墳はなかなか行かれませんので、是非ついでがあれば立ち寄ることをおすすめしまし。

30数基からなる古墳群で全長64ｍある１号墳（前方後方墳）には葺石が施され目玉のような大石があります。ふもとにある「雨の宮能登王墓の館」には1号墳の粘土棺の実物大の模型が展示されています。かつては1号墳の後方部に相撲の土俵があったそうです。
