Minakami is certainly not the best looking town but this little walk along the river was nice enough, with some autumn colors although there's much better autumn colors at the nearby Tanigawadake or Takaragawa Onsen, both about half an hour by bus. Weirdly enough, I saw a 2-page section for this place in a Japanese magazine but Tanigawadake is just... More

Due to the late rainfall some parts of the trail/route are inoperable. Quite a few steps therefore plan accordingly and wear proper shoes. Enjoy!

The walk provides some good views of the river and parts of the township (which is not really a beautiful town, let's be honest…). It's easy but has some parts where you got to watch your step. We've enjoyed the 4 km walking path in late spring and fall the most. Summer is fun but a little boring-color wise.
