drove from asahikawa, about 2 hours leisurely.

it was great to see the pink moss bloom in full force, after missing out on mt fuji's blooms.

definitely worth the 2 hour journey!

Located quite far away from other attraction, it is highly recommended to rent a car if you want to go to the park. The blooming season is from May to early June. The nearest town is Kamikawa or Monbetsu. Asahikawa is about an hour and a half drive as well. I tis not as touristy as lavender field on July in furano though.

This place is definitely one for the shibazakura season. It is beautiful and the landscape is good. However, we went to higashimokoto park after this and felt that it was much better. If you have to, visit this park first followed by higashimokoto. That way, you won’t leave disappointed. If you do not have the time though, please don’t give this place a miss. It is amazing nonetheless and is a feast for the naked eyes.

We went to this place on 7th May( Golden Week )-
Good things - Place looks amazingly pretty and lot of good pictures can be expected .
- Different varieties of flowers with different colors
- Can get done quickly like at the max 3 hrs

Bad - You pay 2000 as the entrance fee , which includes round trip from kawaguchiko.
-You cannot spend an entire day in this place, as there is nothing much to do besides checking out various flowers and taking pictures. How much can you admire flowers.?
- To go to this place, you need to take highway bus till Kawaguchiko and then Shibazakura Liner till this place which costs - 3500( Shinjuku- Kawaguchiko- Shinjuku) + 2000 = 5500 ( not worth)

My advice - You might as well spend an entire day at Kawaguchiko and have fun

Rating- Average and not worth the price.

We went there in the summer and saw nothing. Only go there during the pink moss time, there's no other attraction in other season.

visited on 24th May when Shibazakura was close to full bloom as per its website. This park is as big as the Higashimokoto Park which we went 10 yrs ago for the same @100K sqm. In comparison, this park has more pink to orange red, apart from purple flowers, while the latter had mainly white and purple ones. Besides, this park dots the paths with Tulips, while the latter planted orange Azaleas.
It was a bright sunny and warm day, with distant mountains still covered in small patches of snow here and there, thus constructing vividly coloured pictures along its mountain slope.

There's no where else in the world that is covered in bright pink, other than this park. It is an interesting sight to behold and be sure to try the shibasakura ice cream sold on site. There were many visitors, it was hard to get a photo taken without any distractions in sight. The sun was bearing down unforgivingly on us, we lasted only 20 minutes out in the open before heading to the cafe nearby to hide from the sun's wrath. We came here with a local day trip tour we signed up for online, the coach ride itself was a little over 3 hours from Sapporo, it was bearable but not enjoyable.

You may visit this park from early May to June. Just take your sweet time to climb up the slopes or sit under the shed to enjoy the spring atmosphere with a cup of coffee or ice cream in hand.

this is the place you must visit during spring times. Shibazakura Takinoue Park is located in Takinoue town which is about two hours north of Asahikawa which is consider nearer for us who travel from Sapporo. we joined a day tours on 23.05.2018 to visit this park. after this park you can visit Kamiyubetsu Tulip Park before back to Sapporo.

unforgetable memories for us to see pink carpets on the hillside at about 200 m above sea level .

Must visit if you are flowers lovers and like nature. Long drive but worth it very much! The locals planted them and taking care of them very well. Very impressive ya! Really hope others can do the same too in other part of the world.
