This is the biggest aquarium we've ever been to and it was a lot of fun. They have so much to see, including giant glass tanks with whale sharks that swim right atop of you. There's also a restaurant to eat at, but I would suggest feeding the kids beforehand if they're picky. My only complaint was that I was... More

This aquarium is the 3rd largest aquarium in the world, only behind The Georgia Aquarium (Atlanta), and Dubai Mall Aquarium. This is a must-see attraction in Okinawa. The variety of fish is incredible and the main aquarium is deservedly the main attraction.

I am a bit on the fence about aquariums and zoos. Keeping animals in less than natural enclosures, especially when the animals are naturally migratory or live in very large areas seem inhumane. However, the conservation that many aquariums and zoos participate in is, I think, worthwhile, not to mention the possible benefit of raised awareness of these creatures. Also,... More

We got to the Aquarium just before closing time so we skipped the crowds but missed out on the rest of the park which was a shame. Churaumi Aquarium is very impressive with a huge main tank containing two whale sharks. The exhibits were all very good however the aquarium visit went by a little bit too quickly. The highlight... Firstly I must say that I'm not a huge fan of aquariums but my wife wanted to visit and as the weather wasn't great seemed like the best choice for a rainy day. When we arrived we noticed that there was 100's of school kids streaming in and knew that we weren't going to have a quiet stroll through the... More

It was a nice aquarium, well layed out. It was very very busy when we went. The main tank was amazing. The whole experience, although good, was a little short compared to other places. But combined with other attractions at the expo park, it was nice.

We enjoyed this aquarium just as much as the Osaka aquarium. Highlights include the giant 5kg lobster, the huge manta rays and of course the pair of whale sharks. We were there during feeding time in the main tank which was amazing to see. We also enjoyed the shark research centre. This is a world class aquarium. Getting to the... More

This is a really cool aquarium and the first one that we have ever seen a whale shark. They have some beautiful displays, but it was extremely crowded when we went. Not sure if it is always that crowded, but I would recommend going right when it opens to beat the crowds. It's on a really cool location by the... More

My husband made this a must-see for me, since he was here a few years ago, as a side trip on a business trip. The whale sharks were the big feature...and they certainly were big! There are two of them in a huge tank with stingrays, mantas, and other rays and skates, along with many species of other fish. There... More
