We skied at Happo One for 3 days - first day was warm and rainy which made for terrible conditions; second day was cold and snowy all day which was incredible, the powder was so soft and fluffy, the best day of skiing we've experienced ever; the third day was sunny and cool, the snow stayed frozen and the clear... Ski Hakuba mid feb 2017. Multiple mtns in Hakuba, Happo one is the largest. All mountains have shorter runs than the us but snow quality is superb and lift lines short.

My partner and I stayed here during winter in Feb. Happo One is pretty quite for a ski-centred town but you can find the odd bustling pub if that's what you're after. The main two areas (Happo and Echoland) are easy to walk between, and there's great food to be found in each. It's a great base for the Happo... More

Love the place, great variety for every level of skier, well groomed and maintained with some fun off piste available too.in General the lifts are well maintained though some are a little older yet still work ok. If you are a nervous lift passenger some do not have safety bars, which on a windy day can cause concern. Town town... More

Great skiing, variety of terrain, 1,000M vertical, excellent snow when we were there, lifts a little dated with no foot rests, good range of reasonably priced (Compared to Australia) food.

The ski course has many different lines suitable for various levels. Good restaurants, many kinds of food provided. There are many good restaurants near the gondola and the transportation is convenient! After the ski, you can have a hot spring bath at the Happo onsen near the Happo bus terminal!

This is an awesome place to ski. Something for everyone. Lot's of runs. It could take all day to get to them all. Restaurant at the top of the mountain is a great break in the day. It's a little pricey compared to other ski resorts in the area though.

Climbed Mt. Karamatsu (2,696m) from Happo one in Aug 2016. This route is one of the easiest route to reach Japan Alps summit, about 3.5 hours walk to summit. It's possible to make day trip but I recommend to take one night at Karamatsu-dake-sanso lodge (20 minutes walk to summit) and enjoy sunset and true alpine atmosphere. If you do... More
