The Hakuba Ski Resort is easy to reach from Tokyo and was the perfect location for our short skiing trip to Japan,. We only stayed for three days but it was worth it. Instead of flying to Sapporo this is definitely an option for all...More

What a great place - all levels covered off - Panorama lives up to its name. Crowds are non existent with us having the runs to ourselves at times. Well groomed runs with very comfortable skiing. Blue sky days are amazing but when it's snowing...More

Really nice resort, Lots of terrain to choose from and good snow. I was a Ski instructor at Evergreen Ski School and I really enjoyed my season. I would recommend going to happo on holiday. However the ski lifts really need an upgrade as they're...More

Fantastic week skiing here, views are magic from the top. Excellent snow. Not much in the way of crowds. Ski school was good too. Only negative is that they close lifts a lot with wind, and there is only 1 gondola - otherwise you are...More

I'm an intermediate to advanced skier and I like this mountain. However, I came here specifically to teach my gf how to ski. My idea was to get her going on the "bunny slopes" of the sakko beginner area and once she was comfortable, I...More

I wonder why so many international visitors go to Hokkaido when this area is handy to Tokyo. It is a nice resort to spend a few days and I would say appeals to intermediate skiiers? The resort may be a little old as they rely...More

Having many courses with a various level of difficulty, Happo-one is a nice place spend your vacation in winter. Different from some ski resort, it is closed to the village area of Hakuba. Resturants, hotels, even convenient store cluster around. To go to the ski...More

We had some pretty epic days on Happo this Feb. There is something for everyone on this mountain from mellow groomers to some truly amazing OOB areas. (I should say in the interest of safety, as with all mountains if you intend to go off...More

The line just to get onto the gondola was crazy and then to get back down (due to lack of snow). We went in peak season with not much snow cover. This made it slightly un-enjoyable. Not much for advanced skiers.

Can we ride the lifts and be at the top of the mountains even if we don't know how to ski? If no, Where is the best to place to view an amazing scenery if we are non-skiers. Thank you.

There is a gondola you can ride to the mid mountain and have scenery there but I am unsure if you can ride a chair to the top without skis

Hi, we are planning a trip to Hakuba on the 4th-10th of January 2018. We have two beginners and two intermediate boarders. We want to know the best place to stay in the Happo-one area. We are in our late 20's, so something with a bar nearby would be good. Thanks Lisa

Anywhere in Wadano is recommended. Very close to Sakka lift which is perfect for beginners, plus it's fast to get to the main mountain for more experienced skiiers (up sakka and then up skyline to the best courses). Plenty... More
