The only view of the waterfall is from a bridge. I believe it would've been a better sight if seen from a closer distance.

We went there during winter. All of the area are covered in snow and ice however the water still flow through the icy hills. The water looks blue-ish and some of the rocks inside it is covered with snow. Very beautiful indeed, looks exactly like the one in Google image. We went to Blue Pond beforehand and walk for about... During winter, some of the water became frozen.. create such a beautiful and stunning views..... Plan your timing carefully as the bus to this place not so frequent (based on our experience during winter). Once you missed one bus, sometimes you need to wait 2-3 hrs for the next bus... There is small eatery place nearby that serves good and... More

When we reached the bridge, the sight was beautiful. Coupled with the night lights from the surrounding hotels and ryokans, and the sound of the waterfall, indescribable view.

This is not a huge waterfall but it is quite beautiful. It is a good place to visit combined with Blue Pond. There is another waterfall, Fudo no Taki nearby. We walked from Shirahige Fall through a beautiful silver birch forest, crossed the road and got to Fudo no Taki. From there we returned to Shirahige Falls (staying on the... More

We stayed at an adjacent Ryokan around 300m from here so had a good walk around the local area. The falls are indeed pretty and you can see the blue water created by minerals that then flows into the Blue Pond a few kilometres down stream. Best vantage point is from the bridge and if you are feeling energetic a... More

What a sight, the calm and serene blue pond is really really blue...in fact blue with a tinge of green. There were many senior citizens who were trying to paint the pond seated around the pond. It was a good experience and worth going for beautiful photos. And it is free!! Why not??

These fall flow into the "Blue Pond". The minerals create a light blue color that is stunning. You can best view the falls from a walkway over a bridge close by.
