This area was the exception in a ten day trip and I wondered what it would be like in peak season. It does have picturesque charm and a network of walkways to allow access to the area. However much... More

It is about 20 min from Hakodate by JR limited express train. From the train station, it is less than 5 min walk to the starting point of the path. The shorter path take less than 20 min easy walking. You have to check your weather before going as it was too cloudy that I cannot see the mountain. There... More

We hadn't pre-reserved seats on the limited express Hokuto train and I was dismayed to find it was fully booked. We were able to get a seat in a non reserved carriage but I recommend you reserve the day before. We left our luggage in a... But as it was early summer, the flowers have not fully bloomed. Thus the scenery was plentiful of greenery without the full blast of... More

Nature is rich. I was healed very much. The autumn colored leaves are particularly recommended. The campground is recommended, too.

We had family pictures taken at this park. It is very picturesque and we had views of both the snow-capped mountain and the still waters.

Onuma quasi national park is one of the most scenic place I have visited. We spent about two hours walking around the beautiful park and the surrounding lakes. We dropped by to visit the park on our way to Hakodate from Lake Toya. One thing to note is if you intend to deposit your luggage, deposit it with the Onuma... More
