Well presented Church in the style of the area with good decorations and ornaments. Well worth a visit whilst passing, and handy forthe few local shops and an A TM adjacent

My cousin, Danilo helped me to arrange a 50th Anniversary celebration for for cousins who travelled from the U S with me. The local priest practiced wedding vows with them before Mass in the sacristy. The celebration was very emotional as this is the town...More

That's a 12 century church. Very beautiful and situated in a breathtaking spot. The place which is has to be visited if you are in Altomonte!

Calabria is full of surprises and Santa Maria della Consolazi is one of them. Behind it's gothic facade the interior is quiet and austere but full of a particularly Calabrian history.

A very interesting interior and well worth climbing to the top of the village for. Some good artifacts inside to enjoy.

The sight of it from anywhere in the village tells you exactly where you are. It's simple classic elegance is worth the stop.

The little village of Altomonte was deserted when I visited on a hot summers day. The church is simple and charming.

Well worth visiting. Altomonte is a beautiful town, should be visited more often. The people were wonderful throughout our visit. Santa Maria della Consolazione is a lovely church; the adjacent civic museum is small but boasts some lovely ivory sculptures.
