A must when travelling to Nagano or Takayama. Shirakawago is just 50 mins bus ride from Takayama Bus station. We have reserved our 2 way seats a month before our trip by calling the Nohi Bus. Upon arrival, we just paid and collect the tickets....More

A place must visit. Particularly in Winter, must visit the observation deck as well. The view is just like a beautiful postcard!

Its interesting to see the cultural homes, some are still be used by the locals. They have a great sake ice cream.. need to come if have time..

Hi Shuyen, Personally, i think its too far to travel from Kyoto to Shirakawago. There is no direct transport. Via bullet train, you need to change from Kyoto to Takayama and then via bus to Shirakawago. Easily, 5 hours 1... More
