The waterfall itself is beautiful. But there's quite a lot of litter at this place. We hiked there from the hospital which is nearby. The hike was about 7km and it takes about an hour to get there. From the entrance it's another 800m. It costs 25 C$ per person. Probably it's the better idea to take a taxi to... More

Took a taxi to the entrance from the center of town and paid 250 cords for two people. The lady at the gate said that was a bit expensive but said that they sometimes try charging upwards of 500. Trek to the waterfall was easy and there a couple other cool paths to explore along the way. Water was cool... More

Excellent place to take a picnic and chill out with nature. We swam in the coldish water right behind the waterfall. Beautiful birds and butterflies abound. Steep walk down and back up again, but well worth it. They say in the guide book that the waterfall dries up January to May, but the woman at the ticket office assured us... More

I walked from the centre of town - about ten kilometres all up. First walk out to the hospital, then turn right into the road with a bus stop in one corner and a tie da on the other - it's dirt at the start but is currently being paved. Just follow that road for seven kilometres or so until... More

We drove up to this waterfall from Estelí. Nice area with good views. We walked up to the waterfall from the parking, which was a short walk (<1km) of average difficulty. The waterfall didn't have much water (was quite dry lately), but the area itself was very clean; I saw some older reviews of the waterfall mentioning the opposite, so... More

I've seen pictures of it when the waterfall is in full force and it seems nice but when I went there it was really just a trickle. The water is not very clean either so I'm not sure If I'd recommend swimming there. If you have nothing else to do I'd say check it out.

Visited during extended dry period and cascada was mearly a trickle. There is actually very little upkeep or even garbage cans located here or on trails in area. Unfortunately, like a lot of Nicaragua , it shows. ( Even though you pay a small fee to enter private land) Definitely was a challenging mtn bike ride from town to the... More

You have to pay a small amount to get in. We went twice as we loved it so much. First time we walked down and second time we horseback rode down. Waterfall wasn't quite as big I expected. Nice swim. 3 m deep which makes it nice and less scary. Try to not go on a Sunday as it is... More

Its a drive out in the country and then about a half a mile walk down a little road. Afterwards downhill on a little mountain trail. It is well worth the ride and the walk. Its a beautiful waterfall and the water is fresh and clear. I really enjoyed my afternoon spent at this waterfall. You need to be in... More
