I made my second visit to Thistledown the weekend just gone in order to catch up with a friend and try out my new Tipi and wood stove! When I go camping I want nature, a feeling of the great outdoors and a massive fire! Not commercial style camping with an indoor pool and cabaret club house Thistledown delivers 100%.... More

Had a nice lunch of yummy flatbread, lamb in lettuce, humus and beans on toast. Service is a bit slow and random but food is freshly prepared. Nice rustic furniture with out door seating as well. Lovely views. Pizzas available in the evening cooked in clay oven.

We stayed in pasture 2 with friends at the weekend. It was our 3rd visit and I can honestly say it certainly wont be our last, we have younger children and the fields, woods, friendly relaxed atmosphere always make for an excellent stay. Even rainy weather couldn't dampen our spirits. Highly recomended

We stayed in elderflower Orchard, it was really nice.. The fire pit was a great touch.. It was a little trek to the showers and to the sinks for washing dishes, but that's why it's cheaper I suppose. I would definitely return if we are ever in the area..

Another great stay in 3rd Pasture where we could relax in a beautiful, car-free setting. There are lovely walks in the immediate area and the opportunity to have a campfire was fantastic. We also really appreciated the quality of the food and drink in the cafe and shop. On our departure, we left a bag in the cafe and it... More

We just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay at Thistledown Farm! We arrived earlier than usual so the pastures were still busy, but there was still so much space for us to find a perfect spot to pitch our tent. All of the camping areas were beautiful and so well kept and the facilities were... More

This is a slice of perfection. Beautiful views, bags of space for the hobbits to roam around and explore. Fires allowed, excellent shop and café. The facilities are also very good, with composting toilets, free hot showers, plus washing up space. Not having the car on site seemed like a pain initially, but we really appreciated the extra calm and... More

This is a very charming campsite which despite being full you do not really notice other campers. The layout is spread over land separated by woodland and hillside and each area for your pitch comes with space for a fire pit. The woodland is full of paths and endless space for children to play. There is also a decent café... More

This place is awesome. We stayed in the elderflower meadow and we just loved the maze-like layout. All they need to do to reach camp site perfection is start serving full English breakfasts in their cafe. I'm told this is the plan! I expect to return. Lots.
