We left Rottingen behind and headed to Weikersheim. This town didn't have many sights either, but it did have one of the best preserved medieval castles in all of Europe! On the Marktplatz was the Evangelische Stadtkirche St. Georg, the Rathaus, and numerous stores and...More

One of the little gems on Romantische Straße: Weikersheim. Beautiful charming town. And with a BIG castle - not to be missed! Renovated and pampered with lots of EU-restoration-millions it is well worth seeing. Guided tours only. On our visit under supervision of a very...More

Visited this Castle while traveling the Romantic Road from Wurzburg to Fussen. An amazing building. Full of beautiful rooms and furniture. We arrived in time for a tour in German. No problem, we were handed a booklet in English, corresponding to the rooms. Plus we...More

We drove the entire Romantic Road and, of course, it doesn't compare to Neuschwanstein, its the second best thing in my opinion. The house is lovely, with its old hunting room and true to period rooms and furniture, but the gardens is what really makes...More

We arrived just before 10am on a Tuesday, after a German Bank Holiday Monday in June. This mean we could jump on the first, free guided tour. As it turned out, we were the only ones on it so we had the guide and the...More

Already the number of Hotels and Restaurants on the main market lets you understand that this is a city the tourist like to visit. Both the town and the Chateau with its charming garden are very beautiful. The castle’s insight was “frozen” for last more...More

Weikersheim is definitely worth a visit. Nice atmosphere in the gardens and also in the city center which is located right next to it.

As impressive as it is from the exterior it is the interior which can only be visited on a guided tour that is most worthwhile because you see many rooms in their original furnishings. The banquet hall will take your breath away.
