We rented a boat from LeBoat in St Jean de Losne - out and back. The day before our arrival, due to all of the rains in France in early June, the changed our itinerary which was a bit off putting, but ended up being better in the end. As for the Le Boat experience it was actually really fun.... More

We cruised the Canal du Centre in a little penichette for two weeks from St Leger sur Dheune to Macon and it was the adventure of a lifetime. We had no boating experience and yet we managed the numerous locks, the gorgeous canals and even the River Saone. The villages and towns along the canals - Santenay, Chagny, Fragnes, Chalon... More

We were staying in Chagny after finishing a long walking tour through Burgundy and having a day's rest when we discovered the Canal du Centre which joins the Rivers Loire and Saone. There is a cycle/walking track along the side of the canal and one could walk many kilometres if one had the time. We walked about 5kms towards Chalons,... More
