Thoroughly enjoyed the tour through the Camerano grotte. English speaking guide was very informative and obviously has a passion for history/archeology.

This phrase that is often repeated about Camerano depicts a part of reality, but not all. Another important consideration, that can be aroused by the visit of this impressive attraction, is the following. The underground city of Camerano isn't like a natural cave, which actually remains unknown until it is discovered. If a whole city - as it happens here... More

We joined a tour of the mane mad caves under Camerano that dates back to pre.Roman times. There isn't a lot of written sources of this cave system that leaves you with a lot of freedom to fit it in with your own theories. But there was a mention of some Templar Knights and crusades....

Just got boring after a while and we couldnt wait for it to get over. Actually at the end when we visited the underground church whic is... More

We took a guided tour in English of these man-made, unique caves beneath the town of Camerano. Our guide was amazing, entertaining, and answered all of our questions. The history of this cave is fascinating and spans across centuries. Be sure to book at least a day ahead of time because there are only 2 tours in English daily. Very... More

picturesque path that run under the town of Camerano, close to Ancona city. Nice place to visit. The caves are basically artificial burrows dig by humans and used for different purposes during the history. During the path it is possible to visit different rooms that appeared to be used for meeting by past secret/or not secret associations. There is also... More

We stumbled across this little town & the underground cave system. There is 2 English tours during the day to chose from (others are all in Italian), so make sure you book one in advance. The tour guide was fantastic & explained the many uses that the cave system could have been used for over the centuries. There is over... More

A very historical cave in the small village of Camerano. A guide is required for entry (English is available). Also once in a while, there is a candle-lit tour, which I happened to take part of, which really bring back how it was when this cave was made many many years ago. The guide was quite knowledgable and entertaining. If... More
