We sought out this winery at the recommend of a friend and we took a taxi out there- 20 min ride from Mendoza City. It was a nondescript building with no sign but not difficult to find. Other posts here were correct- no reservation needed. We got there a few minutes after it opened at 11am and there were already a few other visitors. Carmello Patti arrived and immediately his warm smile was a start of a memorable tour and tasting. He speaks only Spanish and with my limited Spanish, I clearly understood his genuine love and passion for wines. His tour was quite educational- more so than any other winery (big or small) that I have visited in Mendoza or elsewhere. He demonstrates true dedication to creating beautiful, lasting wines. The wine tasting was simple and highlighted 3 varietals. They were some of the best wines we have tasted in the 3 weeks we were in Argentina that we bought a few to bring home. He and his winery are unassuming and have relied on the amazing quality, meticulous care, and word of mouth (along with multiple articles in worldwide establishments) to spread the word. Visiting him and his winery ranks in the top 5 amazing things I did while in Argentina. I cannot speak highly enough of this place and is a definite MUST visit for any wine lover.

The man himself Carmello is there to talk to you about his art. There is a great wine tasting and explanation of how the Bodega works, It's history and Carmello's passion comes through everything. his warmth and generous nature is a joyful way to spend a hour. You can buy some wine while you are there but there is no charge for the wine tour.

Carmelo is how he is, he does what he does, and creates as he creates. He is neither influenced nor concerned with any other methods than his own and he this is what makes the experience so refreshing. He is the oenologist and he wants to ensure you leave with some understanding about his process. Free and lighthearted, this is an experience you will enjoy.

Everybody knows Carmelo Patti. So we took a taxi and just turned up. He's a legend and the minute you walk through the door you understand why. It is informative, it is amusing, and you are with an authority who does not spare his better wines. To go to Mendoza and not visit Carmelo Patti is blasphemy.

I It is not a luxurious or beautiful place, but it has been the best experience in terms of learning. Carmelo welcomed us with a great smile, open to truly teaching the art of wine and sharing his anecdotes and experiences. It has been a very informative and fun experience! I recommend the visit 100%!!!

Carmelo Patti is NOT to be missed if you're in the Mendoza area. This small, family-owned and run business is one of the most heartwarming and charming experiences I had while in Argentina. We did not have a reservation, but Carmelo and his daughter kindly fit us in for a quick tour. We unfortunately do not speak Spanish and they did not speak much English, but we got by with Google Translate and my husband's elementary Spanish! Carmelo and his family put their hearts into their wines, and he is a legend in Mendoza. We had to buy a bottle to go!

As you pull up a gentlemen comes out to meet you outside a warehouse. It’s Carmelo. Super nice. Speaks a little English, but trust me he speaks wine and you will understand everything he says. Just a great guy That is very passionate about his wine.
This place should be on everyone’s list of wineries to see. Oh yeah don’t forget the 2009 Cab. And get Carmelo to sign the bottle.

IF YOU'RE IN MENDOZA, GO TO CARMELO PATTI. Now that we have cleared that part, schedule yourself. Don't bother trying to make a reservation, Carmelo will talk to you personally when you get there. A lot of history and stories, the best wines in Argentina, and the best price in the region. Will always reurn here when in Mendoza

We were lucky enough to be introduced to this gentleman and his wine in 2017. Tonight, we celebrated a milestone but sadly finished the last bottle we brought back from our trip.
The whole experience of visiting Bodega Carmelo Patti proved to be one of the greatest highlights on the best vacation we've ever taken. Carmelo is authentic, earnest, and friendly. He crafts incredible wine that tastes all the better because you feel like he's an old friend and that you're part of his family within minutes of arriving.
This is a spot worth seeking out if you're in or near Mendoza, and if you enjoy wine, look for a bottle wherever you can find it. You won't be disappointed.

First: no English
Second: long lecture about corks
Third: wines were more of an old style, they tasted like from the 60’-70’s so if you like that style you are in the right place
Price: about $18-$20 p/bottle so not to bad
Priceless: Carmelo’s personality, larger than life!
Should you go?: not sure, I was told he is a legend but honestly I’ve never heard about him but seems like he is a legend in the Argentine wine maker scene. Overall, there is nothing to see at his winery and it is quite outdated, so if you go just go to meet Carmelo

Hola Facundo!

Colocamos no Wase e conseguimos chegar.

Muchas gracias
Written 5 February 2018
Martin, buenas...
No contrate ningún tour.
