Wonderful meal with an amazing view
We came to this restaurant for lunch. We were greeted with a glass of sparkling wine upon our arrival then we were taken to the outside dining area which was actually a covered room and with AC but because the entire walls were glass, they allowed for stunning views of the surrounding nature. The views from this restaurant are incomparable, with the Andes as a backdrop our meal was promising to be nothing short of amazing. We had a 7 course tasting menu paired with 6 different glasses of wine. All of the dishes we had here when compared to other restaurants we had been to, were truly tasting menu sized dishes. In other words smaller in size than normal. However, the size of the wine pours were not that small so by the end of the meal I was definitely feeling the alcohol. Word of advice, pace yourselves during the meal, don't drink the entire pour or get ready to stumble on your way out of the restaurant. We didn't have time to tour the winery or the cellar since arrived pretty late during their lunch window but we did get to walk a bit around the vineyard and got to appreciate the beautiful surroundings. This was another spectacular tasting meal we had in Mendoza, which along with Bodega La Azul, it's a restaurant not to be missed while visiting this region. The service was outstanding and again the price was half that of what we paid at El Enemigo which we thought was significantly overpriced.

The Highlight of Our Mendoza Trip
Myself and my wife have visited Mendoza eight times over the last ten years and eaten in at least 20 of the best known bodegas and restaurants in the area. During this most recent visit we sampled the cuisine and wines in three of the most highly rated wineries in the region. Ruca Malen was, undoubtedly, the best experience we had. The food, wine pairing and service were all faultless. The winery has not changed in the ten years or so we have known it and that is a good thing in this case. It is boutique in size and style and understated in its approach to visitors. Staff are highly trained, knowledgeable and very attentive. The food was exquisite, the wines sublime and the Andean vistas are to die for. Very hard to beat what this bodega has to offer.

    Amazing Lunch Experience
This might have been the best food that we had in Mendoza. After reading some reviews of this winery restaurant we made a reservation and had lunch there. It was a gastronomic delight. We had 7 delightful courses with wine pairings for each. We loved each dish and wine. The setting and service were impeccable. We took a taxi there and a Remiss back to Mendoza for about 1000 pesos.
Dear! Thank you very much for your time on leaving us such a lovely review! Hope to visit us next time if you visit Mendoza! Best, Fernanda

Our party of 6 had prepaid for a 7 course meal. Upon arrival they asked us to sanitize our hands which we all complied with this request. They then asked us to note where we traveled from and the date we arrived. this information was provided we were seated and served champagne. then after 15 minutes they returned stating they could not serve US citizens and asked us to leave.

Dear sir/madam, I would like to build on your review. You were asked, in good terms, to leave the place considering that you had arrived to our country 5 days before your reservation, moment at which US it had already declared your country as a risk one considering the covid 19 virus. Eventhough this situation, that clearly it was unconfortable for you and the team, we should had cancelled your reservation previouslly on your arrival to the winery, but at that time was not clear enough how to manage this kind of situations. I would like to resume, that you were not asked to leave the place for being US citizen; we only activated a preventition procedure considering the global risk to get in touch with people travelling from red zone countries, as US. Best regards and apoligies for the inconvenience caused. Fernanda

We found the staff to be rather pretentious, the winery attractive but "cold". I guess they think they are the top dog and it is not necessary to be friendly and patient with the customers.

Unfortunately we couldn’t visit this winery due to the extremely bad communication. They are very slow in responding to the multiple emails and texts I sent and then finally one day before we arrive in Mendoza they tell us they don’t have availability for the whole month. Would have been nice if they told us that sooner. Such a shame.

Reservations essential. Set menu with wine pairings. Everything was delicious. Excellent service. Dining area has views of the vineyard. Great experience. Allow PLENTY of time for the lunch - it's worth it.

My wife and I visited this winery for lunch. One of the greatest delights of Mendoza is a leisurely winery lunch, with multiple courses paired with exquisite wines, and a gorgeous vineyard and mountain view. Ruca Malen is one of the best and we loved it.

This is refined dining (with wine pairing) and truly memorable. We enjoyed a 6 course lunch with wine pairing at Ruca Malen. From start to finish our palette was delighted and surprised. The attention to detail in both presentation and preparation of the dishes was 5 star. This is a gem and I will return. Thank you Javier Caruso @ hashtagwinetours.com for making this happen for us!
