People we were visiting in Tula de Allende brought us here on our way to San Miguel de A. The whole road we drove in on was decked out in bright paper "flags" strung between the tops of the buildings on both sides. Festive indeed....More

The center of every Mexican town is the Zocalo or main plaza, often uninspiring. This is a very classy town and this one is one of my top ten having visited hundreds of communities over the years. Surrounded with boutiques, art and fine hotels and...More

We arrived early in Tequis on our day trip, enroute from San Miguel. To start things off right, we had a quick breakfast at one of the better restaurants around the plaza. There are lots to choose from. Then we spent most of the morning...More

Nice square with restaurants and shops. Church bells dominate on the hour. At sunset hundreds of grackle birds do a murmuration and roost in the trees in the square.

We never walked to town without passing by and stopping for some sight or event. From the church to the parade we saw to the marching band to the demonstration to the milkshakes!

There is always something going on in this plaza. It is like a beehive of activity. In the week we were there, there was a Singing Competition, a play, a band, a guy dressed up as a skeleton monk, along with vendors of all kinds.

Very interesting, oldest plaza in the city. Quaint, charming, quiet in an older part of town. Beautiful very old church on this plaza. We stayed in a chalet a few blocks away.

Plaza Miguel Hidalgo was an adorable "town square" filled with abundant photo opportunities, shops, and delicious restaurants to casually browse through. There are a few beautiful churches either right on the square or near by for you to explore as well. In the middle of...More

TX stands for Te-Equis or Tequis. Short for Tequisquiapan. Adorable town with lots of artisian food, especially cheese and wine. Shopping is great too.

A great little place to explore, with fantastic fondas (homes/cafes) along the way to experiment at. Lots of shops and places to eat. We went during the food and wine festival which made it much more crowded but very festive.
