Description:

Visit Dalwhinnie Distillery Whisky and Chocolate, a match made in heaven....

Visit Dalwhinnie Distillery Whisky and Chocolate, a match made in heaven. Our tours and tastings offer something a little different - a range of Classic Single Malts paired with specially selected luxury highland chocolates. Come and elevate your senses in the highest distillery in the land. Visit Scotland 5 Star Visitor Attraction. We are the highest distillery in the land and weather conditions can be severe. It is always best during winter months to phone in advance to see if we are open to visitors. We do advise that you book your tour in advance. Dalwhinnie Distillery stands in the Cairngorm National Park at the heart of the Scottish Highlands in the village of Dalwhinnie. From this remote but accessible location comes our Dalwhinnie 15 year old single malt scotch whisky. Know as the gentle spirit. We invite you to visit us for a distillery tour and see how we make our single malt whisky. At the end of the tour enjoy a taste of Single malt whisky paired with specially selected handmade chocolate. Dalwhinnie 15 year old is a Highland malt whisky but some have argued that it should be called Speyside malt because our water source is a tributary of the river Spey the great whisky river. We are sometimes called the highest distillery in Scotland and at 1164 feet above sea level we must be one of the highest distilleries. We don't worry these debates and concentrate on making great single malt whisky. When you come to Dalwhinnie distillery you can see us making single malt Scotch whisky or you can come for a whisky tasting. We have paired great single malts like Dalwhinnie, Glenkinchie, Cragganmore, Talisker, Oban and Lagavulin with specially selected handmade chocolates. Why not come and try our adult hot chocolate! Our whisky and chocolate tastings are a truly unique experience. 1 hour south of Inverness on the A9, 2 hours north of Edinburgh on the A9 and 1 hour east of Fort William on the A86 and A82. Just of the A9 and A86. Dalwhinnie's central location (close the geographic centre of Scotland) makes it a great base for exploring other single Malt distilleries like Ben Nevis, Tomatin, Glenfiddich, Glen Livet, Macallan, Glenmorangie as well as many of the Classic Malt Distillery. Dalwhinnie is only a short drive away from Newtonmore, Kingussie, Aviemore, Inverness, the House of Bruar, Pitlochry, Loch Ness, Fort William and Blair Athol

Stopped off on way down to Edinburgh. Good break spot. Really could benefit from having a coffee shop or at machine to have a coffee. Extensive range of whisky to buy. I bought a 15 yr old which is lovely.

What fun! Our tour guide was great, engaged with the children and we all learned a great deal. The dram tasters at the end were very appreciated and we're now enjoying our Winters Gold, in our Dalwhinny glasses now we're home. Thanks again.

Tour of the distillery and tasting. Great for couples to get an up close experience of whisky making with tasting at the end of their 15yo single malt and a souvenir glass. Brilliant for a trip up north:)

The simplest of ingredients and hundreds of years experience culminate in a world renowned product. I was very glad to do the guided tour and my non whisky drinking wife loved the architecture and character of the building almost as much as the chocolates at the end. Must do.

This was not a scheduled stop on our tour but I'm sure glad our tour guide knew this place. On our ride up the road to Dalwhinnie he told us all about the Dalwhinnie tours and the whisky and chocolate tastings. He had me Chocolate. We arrived right after the Distillery opened and it was a cold day so we... More

Came in to taste some whisky and chocolate. Picked up a 15 year bottle and limited release bottle. The pairing of whisky and chocolate was very well done. Good selection of whiskies from all around Scotland.

Dalwhinnie distillery will always be in contention for the the prettiest location of all Scotch distilleries. The visitor centre oozes Diageo's financial muscle and its lovely in its layout and presentation. Tour guide was knowledgeable, as were all the staff around the visitor centre. Dalwhinnie tour is an ideal distillery to start with if you are driving up towards the... More

Our first visit to Scotland and Dalwhinnie Distillery was highly rated in Trip Advisor. We booked our tour and we were staying in Aviemore but only took us about 30 minutes and we found the distillery easily with excellent sign posting. Our tour guide was Willie and he was knowledgeable, entertaining and included everyone in the tour even my 10... More
