Large castle built up on high and dominating the surrounding area. Fantastic views of all the valleys around. Very good information boards throughout with plenty of areas to explore and climb.

loved it here; it has terrific views, sympathetic maintenance of the ruin. Great to wander around - plus there are the castle walls beyond the castle now incorporated within the houses and streets. Good cafe.

Were lucky to visit Denbigh Castle the last weekend in September when there was an 'open doors' event. This meant all the car parks in Denbigh were free as was entrance to the castle. The approach to the castle is quite steep, through the castle...More

We have past often but never visited. Glad we did. A good sized castle, with spectacular views - a beautiful sight. Not much in the way of interpretation panels but enough. Stopped for a coffee and sat in the sun. We brought a picnic too...More

I agree with most of the reviews of this castle (the positive ones) I would like to add that it is big and was a far more important center of power than I originally thought. You do however need a lot of imagination as the...More

You can drive right up to the castle itself, where we had no problem parking. There are 'medieval' sound effects on entering the ruins, which added flavour to the experience and there was a jousting display in the grounds. Amazing views.

Kids were really looking forward to visiting Denbigh castle. Great place to visit, steeped in history with stunning views of the Vale of Clwyd - testament to its location (stronghold) choice.

The view from the top over Denbigh and the surrounding countryside is beautiful. Ample parking, although we walked up from Denbigh town, through the gate and past St Hilarys. Signage around the castle is simple and probably aimed mainly at the kids, but is a...More

Much bigger than expected and lots to look at & take in. The views are excellent too. Younger children will need supervision but we took a four year old and he went up to the top. Good for a couple of hours relaxing look around.
