- Jay 林Singapore, Singapore181 contributionsSunset in LangkawiWatersports, beach games, beach bars, hotel by the beach, seashells lining the beach for your picking, these are not the only attraction. If you loves sunset (not during monsoon season), you can watch it here and on a good day, it will be spectacular. It's golden rays fills the sea and shells on the beach. A surprise attraction was the "beach buskers". They performed some incredible stunts with flaming baton, flaming balls and flaming cannon. This was just after sunset.Visited December 2022Travelled soloWritten 20 December 2022
- Sheau H30 contributionsPowdery Sand BeachAbsolutely love the powdery sand there and the sunset view is superb. There are long straight of shops along the road to do your shopping. You can find lots of activity agent to book your activities, is cheaper then online booking.Visited December 2022Written 29 December 2022
- Angelina LPetaling Jaya, Malaysia13 contributionsClean and beautiful beach and seasideI was surprised at the cleanliness of Cenang Beach despite so many visitors to this site. The sand is so white and fine. And it's a very happening place esp at night. A must go beach area. My kids loved it.Visited December 2022Written 3 January 2023
- MJCyorksWakefield, United Kingdom42 contributionsNot quite the “wow” factorLovely stretch of fine soft sand which was fairly clean. Lots of cafes but only 3 selling alcohol along the whole stretch of beach. This was very disappointing as a foreign visitor and only half a dozen places to buy drinks in the whole resort. The “Langkawi” sign has been removed from the south end of the beach and there is a large construction site in the making. This was noisy all day and is likely to be there for years as they are building three large towers. This will certainly change the views. Sea was cloudy and overall the resort is scruffy and seems to be in a transitional phase which will probably ruin the original charm. Glad I visited but probably won’t return.Visited January 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 31 January 2023
- Heli PHelsinki, Finland6,406 contributionsClean beach, muddy waterNo plastic or other trash was visible as I walked the lenght of the beach. The sand felt soft under my bare feet and oil spils were not frequent. The muddy water, same colour as the huge jellyfish doesn't invite to swim. Several budget restaurants line the area and start serving food at four o'clock.Visited January 2023Written 3 February 2023
- rotjongCanada156 contributionsLovelyBeach is lovely, some beach bars, and super busy. The shopping street comes alive at night but there are just a few places to sit down and have beer which is too bad. Lots of places to eat and lots of food stands or food trucks.Visited February 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 19 February 2023
- Laylan GSingapore, Singapore368 contributionsBig white sandy beach with fantastic sunsetIt is a hugh beach with nothing much to do unless you are very keen with the water activities which quite pricey to me. The day time is absolutely very hot if it is not a rainy day, the water is not the clean & clear compared to Koh Lipe but it is still all right if you would like to swim but no clean & clear water for your information. There are restaurant along the beach that run by the hotels. Nothing fanciful. Perhaps maybe it will be more exciting after sunset as some restaurant set up the dinning tables on the beach. There are some fire show around perform by the local, it is not free coz they will collect money from you if you are standing within thier audience boundary. Well stay away if you are not feeling to chip in.Visited March 2023Written 8 April 2023
- Lisa PBoca Raton, Florida55 contributionsOld and tiredA very tired area with lots of shops, bars and hotels closed down. The pavements are falling apart so you need to watch your step too. If you like a very seaside resort with Starbucks, McDonalds and Pizza Hit then maybe it’s for you. Sadly this all detracts from the beauty of the beach. There were hardly any loungers to rent on the beach and just a ton of water sport rentals. The island really doesn’t live up to its hype. There are far nicer places to go to. Everywhere we went buildings were either half finished, half falling down or closed completely. We decided to cut this section of our trip short and head elsewhereVisited April 2023Written 21 April 2023
- Vaishali LimayePune, India167 contributionsHappening beachThe beach is clean with local food shacks along side. Not many venture into water but prefer water sports instead. The water is a little muddy on this beach and we also heard of jelly fish bites on this beach. We did go into the water albeit very carefully. Evenings are very happening with lot of people sitting on bean bags and enjoying their drinks and food. Some shacks entertain them with fire plays. We enjoyed our walks along the beach both in the mornings and evenings. Avoid daytime due to the humid and heat.Visited May 2023Written 30 May 2023

I'll be back!, it's my new Bali, without the hassle..vibrant and bustling at night, chilled on the beach. I’m hard to please, so if I’m going back, it worth your time.

Watch your step on so called sidewalk as it has gaps and dangerous bits to stumble on. Pandemic must have really taken out many of the small businesses the ones left are uninspired and sadly sell much of the same. Walked to the end and back a few times, nice views of the islands from afar and good spot to watch the sunset. Corporate food like kfc, Pizza Hut and Starbucks left an underwhelmed feeling for venturing to this part of the island.

Bustling beach with many activities. Restaurants, juice stalls, straw sellers everywhere. Fireworks every day. Few minutes walk to Cenang Mall the biggest in the area. It remains alive till late night.

The shoreline is dirty and broken rubbish bins with uncollected rubbish. Too many hotels on the beach side and so many closed restaurants don't add to the appearance.
The main one-way street full of shops selling the same stuff. Mostly clean. Parking is supposed to be right side of the street only, but where possible cars were parked on the left side. No police patrol seen to control the parking.
The whole area could do with a massive cleanup.

We had our dinner at Pantai Cenang. The stall name is Bamboo Cenang. The food was delicious, especially the Tom Yam Soup, Grilled Sambal Fish The price is reasonable for two pax.

Are families with children welcomed in the bars along the beach. We were looking forward sunset drinks whilst the kids can enjoy the beach.

hi, no problem as the law is very relaxed and all the bars on the beach are very open so you will find you are practically sitting on the beach and they all have food so to ban children would not make economical sense and they all have good WiFi so once you are logged in you can return and automatically logged in and watch the sunset. i have travelled to most of the world and this beach and the island itself is by far the best and that beats the Caribbean. the only one that comes close is tioman island. just writing this i want to return which i have promised myself.

I assume you want to do this whilst you use the beach, so I would suggest you go to the main road that runs parallel to the beach and ask there. I am pretty sure there are facilities there.
