Pothundi Dam is a small earthern dam situated en route Nelliyampathy, a hill station in Palakkad District. It is about 35 km from Palakkad and 56km from Thrissur district. The entry fee is 20 INR. There is a small garden also for falilies. It is a dam built for irrigatiin purpose and it caters to nearby places in Palakkad district. Pothundi Dam Constructed in the 19th century, it is considered one of the oldest dam in kerala .A popular festival held on the shores of the reservoir is known as the Nemmara Vallengi Vela Festival.

Pothundy dam is an irrigation dam located in Palakkad district on way to Nelliampathy and about 135 kms from Kochi airport. A beautiful location and still looks clean, serene and peaceful. One could spend some time here on way to Nelliyampathy resorts
