Very nice statue by Artist Kanayi Kunjiraman. This statue of a naked woman, known as 'Yakshi' (fairy or demigoddess). Its very realistic sculpture, featuring all body curves and measurements of woman's body. Its a must see attraction in Malampuzha Gardens, Palakkad. Situated in Malampuzha Garden & Dam, Palakkad District of Kerala, India. To enter inside Garden, entry fee is there.... More

Been to Malampuzha. The Yakshi Statue in constructed in one of the gardens associated with the dam. A great piece of art from Kanayi Kunjuraman. Need to ignore the controversies and just appreciate the art.

The huge statute of Yakshi, a work of the renowned sculptor Kanai Kunjiraman created some controversy among the conservative society because of the nudity of the statue. But it is one of the main attractions of Malampuzha. But for majority of art loving people it is an awesome work which has to be appreciated.

Yakshi statue is located in Malampuzha garden. Some appreciate the art and some do object it. It is very tall and looks as if the lady is meditating with her hands above her shoulders.
