A glowing wall of glittering glass ricochets throughout the outdoor room. If you are in the palace, do stop by.Visited November 2023Travelled soloWritten 3 November 2023
- Gareth KGlasgow, United Kingdom31 contributionsCracking piece of Rajput/Mughal architecture.Great piece of architecture in the Amber Fort. Pretty unique, although the Agra Fort has the "jewellery box" which is a precursor to this. Recommend visiting early to see the elephants drop off tourists and beat the rush. (We never went up that way) They stop early to save them from the heat.Visited January 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 23 January 2024

ThecPslace of Mirrors is quite beguiling with its hundreds and hundreds of mirrors adorning it's ceilings and walls. Beautiful gardens in the courtyard facing it too. - Geoff HSissinghurst, United Kingdom17,437 contributionsShould not be missedFamed for its beautiful, ornate mirror glass work on the walls and cieilings, the Sheesh Mahal (the Glass Palace) is one building in the Amber Fort which should not be missed. Its glorious. As this building was the place where the Raja met his honoured guests, it is also called the Diwamn-e-Khas, the Hall of Private Audience.Visited April 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 26 May 2024

The Hall of Mirrors (also called Sheesh Mahal and Palace of Mirrors) is located within the walls of the Amber Fort Palace. This is a visually stunning area of the Palace that have many small pieces of mirrors that are artfully embedded in the walls and roof of this section of the Amber Palace. Very nicely done artwork using these small pieces of mirrors. Prior to entering the Hall of Mirror, there is a very nice garden/courtyard area at the entrance to this area.
Very nice area to visit and enjoy this artist creation.

Located in the third courtyard of the Amber Palace, unfortunately it is not possible to enter the Hall. However, the inlaid panels and mirrored ceilings are visible from the outside and are stunning. This is one of the most beautiful rooms in the palace and a great photo opportunity.

Sheesh Mahal (mirror palace), the mirror mosaics and colored glasses were a "glittering jewel box in flickering candlelight".Sheesh mahal was built by King Man Singh in the 16th century and completed in 1727. It is also the foundation year of Jaipur state.However, most of this work was allowed to deteriorate during the period 1970–80 but has since then been in the process of restoration and renovation. The walls around the hall hold carved marble relief panels. The hall provides enchanting vistas of the Maota Lake

If the Amber Fort in Jaipur is a knockout it is surpassed by the Hall of Mirrors contained within the walls of the fort.
Walls of this inner palace are intricately adorned with small pieces of glass and mirrors, and it is an absolute highlight. Although entry into the palace is not permitted there are plenty of opportunities of looking into the inner parts and marveling at the mirrored walls

Does anybody know how can I go to udaipur from jaipur?! By cab or plane?!
Written 22 October 2017
There are no direct flights between Jaipur to Udaipur.
Two options;
1. Travel to Delhi (around 200 kms by road) & catch a flight.
2. Else travel by road (prefer minimum a Toyota Innova vehicle).
