We loved our day hiking here. We drove up at 8:30am and had no issue with parking etc… at the paid parking. We enjoyed hiking then stopping for refreshments at a local rifugio. We got lucky and had a beautiful clear skies.

First time we have visited this area in September and loved the moutian access by lifts to various walking tracks. There are tracks and access for all abilities and the meadows are always spectacular. Our fourth visit to the area and travel from australia to relish the moutains and greenery.

While the Tram was expensive. The hiking was great!

You can walk at your own pace from easy to challenging. You can also just enjoy the view from a restaurant.

We did a nice 2 hour loop hike from the tram station to the Panorama Hotel and back. It was great and anyone in good shape should be able to do it. (I am 62 and over weight and took a few breaks along the way, but enjoyed it.)

One of the most beautiful places you can visit in South Tyrol. Definitely recommended if you are looking for a hike with stunning view. I recommend to watch the sunrise or sunset - amazing experience. Once arrived at Compatsch you can choose between multiple hiking paths.

It can only be defined simply in one word as divine. This is the most beautiful place I've ever been to. Period.

I was born in mountains and I've seen generally all types and sizes of them so technically they shouldn't surprise me but once I read the word 'Unesco World Heritage' and saw some pictures, I knew I had to go there. Even though I had already seen the pictures but still somehow it managed to pull my mouth wide open with wowww.

The whole Dolomite region is really God's country and this is cherry on top of the cake. You finally understand what Europe's highest alpine plateau really means once you step outside the cable car from Sankt Ulrich town and take a look around. God has truly blessed this region with heavenly beauty and thankfully the locals are also doing what they can to keep it clean and tidy.

Well, it's a great area for cross country skiers. The trails from Malga provide stunning views to the Dolomites peaks. The famous Panorama trail is worth the effort. The short loop trails at Malga are also very nice. The whole area under the snow looks idyllic. The best part - most of people come there for alpine skiing so cross country trails are not crowded.

Armed with our 3 day Gardena cards bought at the Seiserlam base station itself, we set off for this walk on a bright, sunny morning in Ortisei. This is a popular circuit, so there were lots of tourists with us. After being whisked high above Ortisei, the first views of an expansive (relatively) flat meadow comes as a surprise. The paths are all quite easy, and well-marked (we didn’t need anything more than the basic map we received with the Gardena Card). Over 4 leisurely hours we walked to Contrin, Icaro and Sanon taking rest and refuelling breaks at each of these huts. We then took a short detour in the direction of Saltria (bucolic scenery with cattle and farms animals and magnificent views of Sassolungo), before retracing back to Sonne. From Sonne, we took the chair lift (also included in the pass) back to the summit station, before returning to Ortisei. Terrific experience.

We visited the north of Italy and we were based in Bolzano with daily trips around the Dolomites. Fantastic place, beautiful, organized, not that full. If you plan to ride the lifts up the peaks go before the end of September as most of them close after that date although there are some still operating until de end of October. Also, be prepared as Autumn is getting later and won't show up until beginning / mid November when the area turns from totally green to green/yellow/red... if you like photography this area is a must... Alpe de Siusi is probably the best spot of the Dolomites... check Lake Garda also (Riva del Garda and Malcesine), Lake Braies, Santa Magdalena...anywhere as almost everything is beautiful there... we were only sad with Lake Carezza as the lake was with the water level low and the trees around cut... absurd doing it with such a beautiful spot.

You can get up to the Alpe by gondola from Kastelruth. It is definitely worthwhile. Just make sure you go on a clear day. If there a low clouds or fog you may not see much
