An excellent presentation of Tibetan history and the tragic events leading up to so many exiled Tibetans in India. Out of respect and natural interest, all should visit this museum and learn.

The Tibet Museum is the official museum of the Central Tibetan Administration's Department of Information and International Relations and is located near the main temple of the 14th Dalai Lama, Tsuglag Khang, in the Dharamshala suburb of McLeodGanj.

Opens at 9am to Closes at 5 pm
Entry 5 inr pp or free
This museum clearly shows the recent history of Tibet and the reasons why the Tibetan People and particularly His Holiness the Dali Lama and his closest followers fled Tibet in the late 1950's and beyond. Well laid out with clear narrations in 3 languages

powerful imagery, quotes & personal accounts of those who have burnt themselves alive in protest.

Images & video interviews are being played. Videos will shake u up.

Located inside the Dalai Lama Temple Complex, the museum is a tribute to the monks & students who self immolated in protest against chinese atrocities as they bulldozed all signs of Tibetan culture.

Well documented in photographs. The entire Tibetan protests, the rag-tag guerilla army to fight the chinese, the systematic destruction of Tibetan language & culture, the fleeing of the Dalai lama to India is also well documented.

Resistance movement by Tibetans. Life of Dalai Lama

Some maps, prints are on sale and any purchase help in their cause.

You have to visit this museum to understand the Tibetans' relationships with China and India.

This museum clearly shows the recent history of Tibet and the reasons why the Tibetan People and particularly His Holiness the Dali Lama and his closest followers fled Tibet in the late 1950's and beyond. Well laid out with clear narrations in 3 languages; first hand testimony from those who have made the perilous journey over the Himalaya. .

Would recommend everyone who visits this area comes here for an enlightening experience
