Grade: Moderate Mcleodganj to Triund 2800 mtrs, 9 kms gradual trek. The trek offer panoramic views Bhagsu village, Mcleodganj, Dharamsala valley and distant views of Shivalik hills and plains of Kangra valley. The trek is moderate nature. Triund is a large land of green grass and pasture like. One can see the mighty Dhauladhar ranges just above the eyes. This is the base camp and climatization point for trekkers climbing the Inderahara point in the Mt. Dhauladhar.

Trekking to Triund was a good experience as it was my first trek. We started from Dharamkot at 2.00 pm and reached at 7.30 pm. We booked our tent before hand. We took a lot of breaks at the cafes for rest. Some tips: - Wear shoes with good thick sole and good grip. People fall down often during down... More

From McLeod square walk to Dharamkot and then the trail to Triund. Best to leave early and allow at least 7 hours for return journey. There are several snack "shops" along the way and a small café at the top where you can get tea or a bowl of maggi noodles.

Its a about 9 km trek from mcleod but dont let that dissuade you from going. The trek is totally worth the view from the top! Water is very limited so carry water and make sure you carry warm winter wear!

We did a three day camping trip to Triund Hill. Did the main climb on day two which took 5 hours (we're not particularly quick but reasonably fit). Stayed the night, had fantastic food and then down again next day. Take sticks/poles if your knees are at all dodgy.
