Monasterio de San Pedro de Rocas is an old monastery in ruins and located in the Canyon of Sil River, in Ourense Province, in Galicia Region, in the North of Spain. It is a very nice and romantic monastery in ruins, where you can see the main bell tower and some rooms surrounded by nature and vegetation. It is a very beautiful place to visit, walk and relax in the surroundings. Also, some rooms have been converted in a little museum, where you can learn about the history of the monastery and monks. Very interesting and romantic place.

Of all the monasteries visited by the Ribeira Sacra, it was certainly the one I liked the most. It is adapted to go with children and makes the visit very enjoyable and interesting.

Originally a hermitage in a cave that was expanded, it became a monastery and later a small monastery. The cave was excavated and doorways added. New buildings and a curious belfry were built on top of a rocky promontory, which can be accessed by a staircase. Full of anthropomorphic tombs.
Charming forest with the San Bieito fountain within walking distance.

A place with a special charm, which can be visited for free and has very long hours.
Although I liked it better before it had an interpretation center, the surroundings still have the same magic as always and it is a particularly beautiful place.
There is also a path that goes to the fountain, but you have to want to walk down and back up.
