Sea Kayaking Abel Tasman National Park

Kaiteriteri Kayaks has been operating sea kayaking tours in the Abel Tasman National Park for nearly 20 years.

With every trip we ensure that: safety is a priority; everyone has a relaxed time in an enjoyable atmosphere, and the beautiful environment is respected. Our trips are about experienced guides and good times, not hard work. For lots of laughs join a trip with the locals!

Over 50 kilometres of coastline offers dozens of golden sand beaches to visit, while the many coves and lagoons provide plenty of interesting nooks and crannies to explore. Sea kayaking here also opens up a world of sea and bird life encounters with animals such as penguins, seals and dolphins. So all in all, you’ve got to say, it’s really not a bad spot!

We went on the 1/2 day kayaking trip and was a great experience with beautiful weather and calm water. Our guide was very helpful and went the extra mile to make everyone happy and feel welcome. The trip was an ideal amount of time for our busy schedule yet we had enough time to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

My friend and I went on this kayak trip a few weeks ago, but I really want to recommend this for eveyone! We took 'the Heart of the park' experience, which is fun for those who love the walk and for those who like to kayak.First you go on a fantastic walk in the forest with great views of the... More

My wife and I went on the trip Heart of the Park Explorer “Walk and Guided Kayak”. We really enjoyed the trip with both walking in the forest and kayaking. John from Canada was a great guide, being very passionate in his job. We would definitely recommend taking this trip.

At the beginning our guide John explained us all about the kayak and how to handle it. He equipped us with a splash cover, so you don't get wet by the waves. As soon as we got in the open open it got a bit rough but John always stayed close to the group and we felt very safe. Really... More

My grandparents and I have done that wonderful tour on a sunny day - beautiful views. We've been looked after in a very lovely manner by our guide, John, and with attention to every single member of his "kayak family". A tasty lunch, muffins, cookies and self-made coffee have been provided. And on top of that John has taken wonderful... More

My wife and I took the Heart of the Park tour which is a full day tour focused in hiking and kayaking. John from Canada was a great guide - very informative and personable. Overall the trip was enjoyable and well done, but I found it very inefficient. The tour lasted approximately 8 hours (8:30 -4:30) but the hiking and... More

My partner took me here for my birthday. First we started off with the kayaking in a two person kayak - our guide, Ciara, was the most awesome energetic guide. She kept us entertained the whole morning with jokes and stories. Even making the safety briefing entertaining! Thank you. The kayak itself was lovely and was nice to spend some... More

We are from Boston area but our daughter lives in New Zealand so we visit regularly. We spent the month of February 2017 frequenting areas we hadn't seen before, and Abel Tasman was top on our list. This "Big Tonga" full day Kayak trip was a highlight! John Moriss, our guide was informative, engaging, helpful, relaxed, and had a sense... More

First of all we had a great guide John from Canada. Went and did the $189 Heart of the Park tour which involved a walk in the bush, lunch and a kayak (with a boat transfer either side). Due to the low tides we had a slightly shorter walk as they couldn't land where they normally do. Half a day... More

First I want to say we had an excellent kayak guide John from Canada! Shout out to him! He takes his job and safety seriously, but he made sure we had a good time. My disappointment is with the advertising from this company versus what you get. We did the Heart of the Park tour for $189 each. "Enjoy a... More
