Sea Kayaking Abel Tasman National Park

Kaiteriteri Kayaks has been operating sea kayaking tours in the Abel Tasman National Park for nearly 20 years.

With every trip we ensure that: safety is a priority; everyone has a relaxed time in an enjoyable atmosphere, and the beautiful environment is respected. Our trips are about experienced guides and good times, not hard work. For lots of laughs join a trip with the locals!

Over 50 kilometres of coastline offers dozens of golden sand beaches to visit, while the many coves and lagoons provide plenty of interesting nooks and crannies to explore. Sea kayaking here also opens up a world of sea and bird life encounters with animals such as penguins, seals and dolphins. So all in all, you’ve got to say, it’s really not a bad spot!

We had an amazing day paddle, with a very entertaining and knowledgeable guide Dan, and baby seals!!! The day was perfect after a worrisome preview of weather due to the remnants of Cyclone Cook, and Kaiteriteri Kayaks made the day simply perfect! Great crew all around, very friendly and genuine! Highly recommend!!

Had seals on our kayak and a very friendly tour guide. You see a lot and get to eat a nice lunch provided. Worth it!

Our group of four had a great day out kayaking around the Abel Tasman with Mitchell our kayak guide and Ian our guide from Abel Tasman Guides. Both Guides were very knowledgeable and safety a high priority. A big thank you to Wally and Chris for organising this brilliant trip. Highly recommended.

Easily booked our paddle the night before by phone, but people just walked up the beach to the van on the day and were included in a group. The Sam's team are very friendly, knowledgable and professional. The equipment is suitable for all skill levels and well maintained. Our guide John was excellent in both his knowledge of the area... Me and my friends done the short morning trip, we were out on the water for a few hours. Our guide was excellent and informative, we saw lots of different sites including wild seals! Also a beautiful sunrise view if you go early. Would recommend, worth the money.

Did the morning Split Apple Rock guided paddle. It was definitely the highlight of my time in the Abel Tasman park, particularly because of our Canadian guide John who was fantastic, amusing and informative. He expertly guided us into tidal lagoons and caves as well as around the Split Apple Rock. I had a great time and would thoroughly recommend... More

My husband, daughter and I did the kayak, seals, and cruise adventure and it was well worth the money. Our kayak guide, John, is every bit as good as all the prior reviewers say: professional, fun, interesting and excellent at his job. He made the experience really enjoyable for us all--even though we we had different levels of expertise. After... More

We had a small group which included my family and my partner. John our guide was fantastic - a lovely Canadian guy who was nice and talkative and really friendly. I really loved the variety - we kayaked through a small cave, past Split Apple Rock, and even teamed up to put a sail up on the way back! All... More

We did the kayak trip called Awaroa Adventure, which went from Awaroa to Tonga Bay. Our guide, Dan, was great! He showed us lots of nice spots along the way, and was friendly, helpful, & flexible. There were tons of seals, including babies, swimming around and putting on a show for us. We visited a lovely lagoon and Tonga Island.... More

We were really lucky to have a very calm sea. The scenery is fantastic. Our guide Ashleigh was very good at guiding us and teaching us about the area. Enjoyed the morning tea on the beach.
