Golden sand at a golden beech near Abel Tasman National Park. Safe swimming on a beech that has nearby restaurant and dairy with holiday homes and motor camp nearby. Usually good weather for swimming in summer and water sports available like kayaking.

We camped with our family and friends at labour weekend and the Campground was over run with drunk teenagers who were abusive and disrespectful. We were kept awake until 2am. There was broken glass all over the beach and bottles all through the camp.
We won't be coming back at this time of year.

We stayed in Kaiteriteri as a base to explore Abel Tasman, and spent the first day just relaxing in the town as the beach was amazing. The water was so much warmer than further south, and when the tide comes in it is lovely to the right of the beach where you can play in the currents (just be careful with children!)

Pretty little beach where you can experience all sorts of water activities - kayaking, boating, swimming, paddle-boarding etc. Shops, restaurants etc across the road for supplies and nourishment.

In the heart of Kaiteriteri is the beach. Not particularly long but very picturesque.

At one end there appears a lot of paddle board and kayak rentals. Also a busy boat ramp which has a toll booth…..

Nice sand and gentle waves. Beautiful rock formations at either end.

The sands at Katiteriteri are an amazing colour - the bay is beautiful and the waters cool and refreshing.

Beautiful beach, golden sand in a half moon - its stunning. Sadly for me it's also super popular so visiting during holidays or on weekends means crowds every which way you turn. Much better on a weekday when it's more peaceful.

This was our departure point for the Abel Tasman Sea Shuttle cruise, so we weren't here all that long but it was a lovely autumn day, light winds and the sand firm and a lovely golden colour. Looks a popular campground, and they the cafe and coffee place all have magnificent water views, so I could imagine wiling away some time here if it were closer to home. A good free parking area at the end of the beach and nice flat promenade/road frontage.

This is not only great as a beach - the location is magnificent, the views awesome, the serenity is good for the soul. The sand is soft to walk on and did not find any broken glass on a full walk up and down (not usual these days). We didn't swim but there were a few in the water (pretty good for mid Spring). The public toilets could be better - very dated and not the best for cleaning your hands etc. Been here 30+ years ago - enjoyed it then and now!
