We visited here en-route from Nelson to Marahau. We got there about 10 am and the car park was very busy. We were there in the summer time so it’s going to be busy. We had a large campervan but got space eventually. The beach...More

Kaiteriteri Beach is a stunning location - and not just for beach bums! There are plenty of great cafes/bars as well as walks, swimming, and other water-based activities. The only downside is that during summer it is well and truly packed full of people! Prepare...More

We came for the kayaking and were sad to leave when it was over. My partner and I will be coming back with a camper van so we can spend a few weeks here.

We only had a few hours on this beach in total during our stay in kaiteriteri. It's a lovely little beach, very clean with soft sand and a blue sea. Great place to see the stars at night.

My husband and I went to new Zealand to visit my brother and we visited kaiteriteri. So small but absolutely beautiful. The beach is stunning. We ate in the bar restaurant here and the food was lovely. So many different activities for all ages here.

I have already answered this question a few weeks back. I do not know about bus schedules, I'm afraid, and in any case would recommend renting a car in order to get around New Zealand: the roads are generally quiet and the... More

How do we get from Nelson airport to Kaiteriteri on 2nd January in the morning please. Is there a shuttle, or do we need to hire a car. How far is it and how long will it take?

I agree that a car is the only way to go. The Kiwi companies have worked well for us. If time allows, I recommend you spend time further north at Golden Bay...the east side has terrific access to the less crowded north... More
