Going to Piedra del Peñol from Medellín is a full day trip. If you have the time I think it was worth it. My husband and I climbed the rock and thought it was easy. We live at 4,000 feet and exercise everyday. My heart...More

The walk up can get crowded so better to go early to avoid crowds. At the top there's food and drinks and amazing views. You must go in you're in Guatape.

Worth the climb up the stairs! Drink water and take your time to go up the stairs cause it is worth the effort and strain

It's a great view, don't get me wrong, but I expected there to be more stairs and for the way up to be more interesting.

Take the bus to Guatape (COL 13,500 one way) and stop at Piedra Penol. A tuktuk costs COL 5,000 - 10,000 to get to site entrance. Then prepare for beautiful views as you climb 740 steps in about 30 minutes. Will be challenging if you...More

Scaling La Piedra is a tiring, strenuous hike up 675 steps to the top, but it's worth it for the view. It took us 25 minutes, stopping at nearly every landing to catch our breath, then one final push to the top. Once you reach...More

740 steps to the top but worth the effort for the view. Plenty of areas to take a break along the climb and food at the top
