Yes! Went there too!!
Stopped at the milestone marking 4850 metres height.
Driving the highway with a group in 4 cars (driven by experts) allows one to fully appreciate this amazing road, and we stopped at every famous landmark spot.(well you HAVE to!)

Baralacha La Pass is the highest mountain pass in the Zanskar range connecting Lahul district in Himachal Pradesh to Ladakh (UT) in India.
It is one of the high altitude motor-able mountain passes.
Baralacha La Pass is situated at an altitude of 4820mtr.
It is the Meeting Point of the Pir Panjal, the Zanskar and the Great Himalayan Mountain Ranges. I passed through Baralacha pass two times heading Ladakh and back from Manali.
It was June but still, there was a lot of snow on that pass, l enjoyed the snow a lot!
Compared to the beauty of Baralacha, Rohtang pass is inferior!
There is a Cafeteria approx 20 km ahead of this pass.
Maggi(noodle) & Tea are the best combo to have at a high altitude on icy-mountain.
Best experience ever!
Thank You for being on this post.

It is a high plateau where three different mountain ranges - Pir Panjal, Zanskar and the Great Himalayas - meet at an altitude above 16000 feet. This mountain pass is one of the highest passes in the Ladakh and is around 73 km away from Keylong on the Manali - Leh road.

This place has very few snow. My talks with locals told me that it used to be more snow here all year round. It made me sad, the state of snow in here.

Drive to Leh is a no big joke as many people think of..but a drive is a dream come true to many drivers across the world. The challenges faced during the journey and the breath taking views at every turn is a trekkers and drivers delight.
Bara Lachha Pass at a height of almost 16500ft is a sheer magical journey and patches of good, bad and Ugly roads , through the melting snows, through the broken patches of roads, no roads to snow roads, to snow hills on both the sides, to barren mountains everywhere, it STILL delights you at every turn.
If you are prepared, then no problems, if you are not prepared, pl be prepared as one cannot take anything for granted on these roads. Anything can happen and nothing can happen. The oxygen level is low so pl do get acclimatised every now and then. The car can leave you asking for more oxygen, flat tyre is a nightmare, slush and snow can be a hinderance and narrow stretch of roads with vehicles oncoming to your side is a nightmare.
STILL - just enjoy, be careful and all the best. DONT MISS it FOr A LifETIME>

Baralacha Pass is first pass after Rohtang....its situated at 16040 feet and ...it is i think something 75 kms from Keylong...
an amazing peace...there is a beautiful frozen lake...soft snow all around...Its at more than 16k so AMS is Obvious. You will have a lil bit of headache...but the landscape around you can refresh you...Roads are a bit Dangerous...
I been there thrice...there is some construction in valley.......Charge your Camera battery, keep enough water with you....and enjoy this beautiful place..
Once I was riding on Lahual spiti...our night stay was at Keylong....we just ride 75 kms to Visit Baralacha and came back....this is the power of this place....

Approx 11:30 we reached Baralacha top. My first impression was just wow!! Very Beautiful, snow everywhere, road was superb, very smooth. We were alone there at that time but we enjoyed there for aprx 30 min, clicked some pics but we were feeling difficulty in breathing, so with heavy heart had to left that beautiful place and reverse the car and drived back to Keylong.

Enjoyed this adventurous pass. It was full with snow. We wanted to go till leh. But we could not proceed ahead since the road ahead was totally broken..till baralacha we enjoyed the ride .. from jispa. It was too cold and windy. We had a small car. Ours was beat. Which is a small hatchback car. But we were so much eager to reach here that though many of us denied us for going ahead.. we went and went and reached till baralacha. It was an awsum trip. We had some altittude sickness like headache and nausia. But it was worth the trip. It was almost heaven. We loved the place.

I went to Baralacha Pass. The Baralacha Pass, also known as the Baralacha la, is a high mountain pass that is located at the height of 16,040 feet above the sea level and is situated in the Zanskar range. It is great place to go.

Is there any snow ?

Hi,
Can someone tell me which month is suitable for visiting baralacha pass so that i get snow with clear sky
Written 23 August 2018
Hi
Starting April, the snow starts melting. The pace of melt is usually slow. So the best time to visit would be April, as soon as rohtang opens. You would get less of traffic because the school vacations are yet to start. So, no nuisance and idiocy at the pass as well. It's likely to be serene and peaceful during that time. But cold... so keep your woollens.
Road conditions on the Leh route are always tricky. Try your luck!

hi,
I am planning to go leh by 7th june from delhi by direct flight. And then will head to manali on 13th june.
Please let me know if it is safe to go in leh manali highway on june mid( 2nd week) with family??
Can we get to see snow on baralacha pass and other passes on june mid?
How the road conditions will be on june mid?
How much time it will take to reach manali frm leh with only day time travel ( from 8 am to 6 pm) ??
Written 19 May 2018
Hi there,
June is the right time to cross. The total distance is 470kms. You will not see any snow on the roads during June but you can view snow clad mountains little far away all along the journey.
Normally people take only one night stop but if you are planning only 8hours day travel you may have to stop two nights to cross
regards

Is it possible from Manali to travel till baralacha pass n return to Manali same day N also we r travelling in 25th August. Whats the current road condition. Is there any suggestions... as I'm going for the1st time.
Written 3 August 2017
Not you can't do in a day trip, you'll have to ross rohtag pass first as soon as possible, because of traffic, to reach Keylong, stay at keylong if you reach late eve, if you reach around 12 or 1pm than you can easily go to Baralacha La Pass, road condition after Patseo is good. Please carry rain coat or umbrellas there is 100% chances of rain these days. Enjoy

Is oxygen level OK for old man76 yrs and child 8yrs in baralacha pass?
Written 5 February 2017
acclimatisation is important. you should stay at Jispa at 10000 feet the bight before and then do the 5 passes from Jispa to Leh the next day.At each pass one should just pass through not halt so as to descend to a lower altitude early. In case of a road block or landslide because of which you are forced to stop longer keep an oxygen cylinder in the car for emergency use !
