Located near Mandi / Kullu, Prashar lake is reached via a combination of road & foot. The lake & its pristine surroundings are simply beautiful!

Mesmerizing views. The road to the lake is awesome. One feels blissful after reaching the top of the mountain. Do spend some time sitting next to the lake. Try to reach early to avoid the day rush.

We camped overnight and walked to the lake early in the morning. Very pristine and peaceful. There are vast grassy meadows all around the lake, so it's easy to find a quiet spot to take photos or enjoy the view.

Prashar lake and temple are a must visit if you are near kullu. Road connects from mandi via IIT Mandi. The journey is wonderful if you are driving your own car or bike. Can stay at the forest guest house or trekkers den. The early morning view of the mountains is beautiful. The arti at the temple especially during Dusshera when the local God's from nearby villages are visiting is mesmerizing. The locals even offered a sheep sacrifice. Thete are many locals offering small treks to nearby peaks as well. But yes keep warm clothes as it is cold in October.

Very clean and one of the most beautiful place in himachal pradesh. Parashar lake trekking is perfect for achieving nature's silence by not trekking very far. Enjoy your time here with family and friends.

This was an all local bus tour. Locals hold very high reverence for both Parashar Lake and the temple. From Mandi, one bus departs at 8 am daily to Parashar Lake. The journey is thrilling, via steep and sharp turns, IIT Kamaand and many villages. All along snow-capped mountains - Dhauladhar and other mountains keep the eyes and soul enchanted yet in sync. 4 hour journey through thick vegetation - road is really good, no broken roads at all (October 2021) The nus makes ample stops for loo breaks and quick snack stop. Local people in the bus, and they visit the place as pilgrimage, not tourism so, please be mindful of their treasure and feelings.

The bus stops at a dedicated point and fro there it is a 1 km walk but it takes up to 15 min for a normal walker. Again time depends on ones health condition and how cold it is. Stunning views, well-laid concrete track and as one reaches, the lake and the temple become visible. No words, just a pure, peaceful, pristine place.

Prashar lake winter trekking ❤️

The on-foot excursion to Prashar Lake is among the most popular treks in Himalayas due to its moderate difficulty level and scenery en route. When done in winters, the journey to this about 9000-feet high pond becomes even better as snow dominates the landscape all around. The Prashar Lake winter trek begins from the bus stop in Baggi village, leading you along numerous scissor bends.

During the hike, you will be required to scale several ridges and moderately high peaks, from where you will get clear views of the great Himalayan Mountains. Another highlight of the Prashar Lake trek is that it leads you through dense forests of pines and deodars, where you may get a chance to see the regional wildlife. Though the elevation of the lake is just 9000 feet and the difficulty level of the hike is easy, the winter season and snow might pose a bit of a challenge. Pack good-quality woollens, shoes with spikes, sunglasses, sunscreen and walking sticks (if required) for an enjoyable Prashar Lake snow trek.
