    Wonderful Tour and Experience
We visited this shop while on a tour to Zaanse Schans Windmills and Volendam. It was a very informative presentation of cheese making and tasting the cheese was an added bonus. The presentation of making the clogs/wooden shoes was fascinating. The selection of items to purchase was incredible and we walked away with lots of cheese and clogs which were very reasonably priced. Highly recommend visiting this beautiful location and shop. Our tour guide was Ophir with Experience Waterland and we highly recommend taking this tour.

We visited here as part of a tour, what a truly entertaining visit especially the clog making the whole show was hilarious and very entertaining. Steven was a true showman which lead to a lot of sales. Well done.

Best Comedy And Wooden Shoe Making Show Ever!
My wife and I came here with low expectations and were completely blown away. This is a must do stop while visiting the Netherlands. I have never laughed harder than when I was at a comedy club. My wife was raised in Holland, Michigan, so she grew up in a Dutch culture and knew all about cheese making and wooden shoe making and klompen dancing. Still, she was blown away at how much this gentleman captured the audience. After the show, there was time for shopping for some of that delicious cheese and more. We even got to try lots of cheeses and shots of Dutch wine. Stick to the cheeses as the wine was less than spectacular. All in all, an absolutely fun two hours!

This was a bit of a letdown in an otherwise fabulous Dutch countryside private tour. I understand that tourists going to the Netherlands want to see clog making and cheese making, but it is ever so “touristy”. Being tourists ourselves I should not really complain, but the lad explaining cheese making was really not up to the task, and the clog making demonstration was a kind of stand-up comedy. Even the cheese selection was disappointing (no Edam cheese only Gouda) – there is a much better selection in an everyday Amsterdam market.

We were here a few years ago and the show put on by the owner while explaining wooden shoe making was campy and he was...umm... taken with himself (or was that the real show? Haha). I don't remember him from our last visit or the show being so corny but he was entertaining and surprising about how few hand make the shoes. The dairy part was pure factual. There is a small attached shop that sells cheese made on site and wooden shoes as well as local souvenirs. Of course, my wife bought something, a mini Delft windmill. It was a nice stop in the beautiful countryside only a short distance outside of Amsterdam.

We were on a small group tour (8 ppl) booked thru Viator. The owner of this business, Stephen, was to provide us an informative demonstration of cheese and wooden clog making. On our arrival, another larger tour group from a large bus came in. Stephen cut the cheese talk off, hustled us out and into the cheese tasting/gift shop and ignored us the rest of the time. No cheese demo, no wooden clog demo. Our tour guide attempted to speak with him to see about us getting what we paid for but the owner felt it more lucrative to cater to the large group instead of us. Don't give this man any money!!

I was there in April, 2023. The demonstrations were very informative and the clog demo was extremely entertaining. It's a family business and I enjoyed my time there very much.

My wife and I were in a small group (8 people of Asian descent from USA) tour organized by Water Experience. Our guide Ali was funny and took good care of us. Our second stop at Irene Hoeve’s cheese and clog was marred by a very upsetting experience for us. Our host at the place had asked us to taste the cheese and wine when a French guide ( white French guy) interrupted us and blocked us from tasting the cheese and wine. He was rude and displayed a bullying attitude. Our guide tried to reason with him. Then the owner (man) came (name is probably Stephen) came and badly handled the situation. He took the side of the French guide without knowing the whole situation. We were just visitors and directed to go to the cheese and wine tasting. Whatever the flow of the process, we had no idea. We decided to leave the room. Outside, a lady employee, perhaps related to the owner apologized to us. She was nice and suggested it was just a communication issue. We didn’t think so. We felt discriminated.

If there is a zero star, this is what they will deserved. There were eight of us in this small group tour and we were all Asians from America. As we were in the middle of the cheese tasting, a rude French tour guide interjected our group and blocked us from continuing the tasting. He told us to go to the back and to let his group go first. Our tour leader told this guy politely that our group was there first and that we were directed there by the shop personnel who demonstrated the cheese making. The idiot refused to move and still blocked the way. Then came the owner of this shop. Instead of helping the situation, you could see he is so racially biased. Told our tour guide to move us to the back as he said he knew the French guy for more than 15 years and that French guide brings him more business. Later, a lady personnel came over to apologize for the situation but not the owner. This should not have happened. There’s no respect for people. No one should visit this store!!
