The Castle is pretty enough and unique in its own standard, but nothing special unless you have a special interest for the epoque. Inside there is a museum from WW2, but only with polish explanations.

Lakes, artificial waterways like Elblag Canal and forests mean a lot, even if somebody doesn’t know anything about Oberland, former Prussian region and its other attractions like Teutonic Castle in Ostroda or impressive Burg Schoenberg near Ilawa. Ilawa which lies on Jeziorak Lake shore is the best place to explore these castles.

Hit a trail with professional guide and select one of many trails in area, maybe Napoleon Trail. If you going to view attractions of Ilawa and surroundings or make your booking, visit Poland Just Now website, select north-eastern region of Poland on a map and select itinerary for a trip lasting 14 days.

Very nice location. And while this is a castle, this might not look like a castle in the traditional way you might think. Still, this was a very enjoyable location to visit and it is near a beutiful park and lake that you can stroll. P.s there is a small waffle with icecream spot nearby...its a must!

Not spectacular one, but - if with small kids, that's a really good place to go and start back-in-time journey, it's small, with some old things to interest anyone for a not a long while.

There was not very much to see, but it was not expensive. The museum was pleasant to spend some time wandering around, and the display of the dolls in national dress was interesting. Not bad if you have a spare half hour.

I spent several hours to learn more and more about the history of this great castle
Starting from oldest centuries to napoleon till the first and the second great wars
Every room in this castle tell us a lot of things what's we didn't know about the daily life in the past

There are not many places to see in Ostroda but Zamek is one of these places that you have to see while visiting this city.
